Lee Jong Won will possibly work with BTOB's Yook Sung Jae and DIA's Jung Chae Yeon in the upcoming drama "The Golden Spoon."
Several media outlets reported on February 7th that Lee Jong Won will be part of the upcoming webtoon-based drama "The Golden Spoon."
Lee Jong Won's agency Echo Global group shared their side and revealed that the actor is positively reviewing the casting offer.
"The Golden Spoon" will be based on the popular hit webtoon with the same name. The story will revolve around the adventure of a boy who acquired a magical spoon that allows him to exchange and switch his life to a rich friend. The main lead Lee Seung Cheon was born into a poor family and he will change his fate to his rich friend named Hwang Tae Yong.
Lee Jong Won will reportedly play the role of Hwang Tae Yong. He is a golden spoon that came from the 1 percent rich family of the country.
"The Golden Spoon" will be helmed by director Song Hyun Wook ("The King's Affection" and "Undercover"). The script will be written by Kim Eun Hee and Yoon Eun Kyung ("Prime Minister and I" "My Fair Lady," and "Winter Sonata").
Aside from Yook Sung Jae and Jung Chae Yeon, former MOMOLAND Yeonwoo will also star in the upcoming drama.
"The Golden Spoon" will reportedly premiere this year.
Lee Jong Won was last seen as the male lead in the music video of IU for the song "Strawberry Moon." The actor made his name known after starring in the 2021 drama "Hospital Playlist 2." He is one of the interns in the hospital.
If Lee Jong Won accepts the offer, he will be starring in two upcoming dramas. He will also join the series "Bad-Memory Eraser."
The actor has starred in dramas such as "The Spies Who Loved Me," "Amanza," "In Your Dream," "My Unfamiliar Family," "How to Hate You," and more.
