Lee Joo Young is in discussion to lead a new crime thriller K-drama.
On December 6, industry insiders shared that Lee Joo Young will be the main lead of the upcoming K-drama Punishment. According to reports, the K-drama will have eight episodes and will be released on the OTT platform Wavve.
Lee Joo Young's agency shared its side of the story regarding the casting reports. They said, "Lee Joo Young will be the main lead of the upcoming Wavve K-drama Punishment."
Punishment will tell the story of an unknown actress who lost her parents due to a phishing scam. She decided to get revenge with the use of deepfake and voice phishing.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Hyung In Hyuk and writer Kim Dan Bi. Tiger Studio will produce the upcoming series.
Lee Joo Young will portray the role of Ha So Min. She lost her parents due to a scam and will do everything to take revenge.
Punishment will begin filming in mid-December. The K-drama will reportedly premiere in May of next year.
This will be the second upcoming K-drama of Lee Joo Young. The actress will also star in the upcoming Disney+ K-drama Nine Puzzle. She will work alongside Son Suk Ku, Kim Da Mi, Hyun Bong Sik, Kim Do Geon, and Kim Sung Kyun.
Lee Ju Young was last seen in the 2023 K-drama The Deal with Yoo Seung Ho, Kim Dong Hwi, Yoo Soo Bin, Baek Ji Won, and Woo Ji Hyun.
