On May 23, an invited press conference for the Wave Original drama One Day Off (directed by Lee Jong Pil) took place at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, South Korea. Lee Na Young and director Lee Jong Pil attended the event.
One Day Off, released on the 24th, portrays the cheerful wanderings of Park Ha Kyung (played by Lee Na Young), a Korean language teacher, as she embarks on a one-day trip when she wants to disappear, encountering unexpected moments and miraculous encounters. Directed by Lee Jong Pil, who gained recognition for his delicate sensibility in 'Samjin Company English Class (2020), the drama marked Lee Na Young's first challenge in the OTT (Online Video Streaming Service) realm, raising expectations. One Day Off tells the story of Park Ha Kyung, who freely walks, eats, and zones out during moments of exhaustion that everyone experiences, dedicating time solely to herself. Each episode presents a different location, and chance encounters with various characters, providing vicarious satisfaction and warm comfort.
Lee Na Young portrays Park Ha Kyung, an ordinary high school Korean language teacher who diligently lives day by day. When she becomes tired of her daily routine and wishes to disappear, she quickly sets off to unfamiliar travel destinations on Saturdays. There, she encounters unexpected moments and meets unfamiliar people, engulfed in special emotions she rarely experiences. Lee Na Young portrays Park Ha Kyung's longing for a small escape with natural charm, offering comfort and support.
Lastly, Lee Na Young expressed her confidence, saying, "In this era where everything seems to flow rapidly, don't we also need some time for ourselves? One Day Off will be a work that can be easily empathized with while watching it comfortably, without being grandiose."
