Han Ji Hyun is in talks to star in her first-ever leading role!
According to media outlet News1 on December 1st, Han Ji Hyun is in discussion to star in the upcoming SBS drama "Cheer Up." The drama will be directed by Han Tae Seop and it will be written by Cha Hae Won.
"Cheer Up" is a mystery romantic comedy drama that will revolve around a once-leading university cheering squad. It will showcase the story of the use of dance on our youth.
Han Ji Hyun will reportedly play the main lead character named Do Hae Yi. She's the newest member of the university's cheerleading squad. She was selected as the top 1% in appearance.
"Cheer Up" will reportedly begin filming early next year after the production has finalized the main cast.
Han Ji Hyun made her name known after starring in the hit SBS three seasons drama "The Penthouse: War in Life." After starring in the drama, Han Ji Hyun already gained several love calls from CFs to magazine photoshoots.
If the rising actress confirms her casting for "Cheer Up," this will be her first-ever major leading role. This will also be her follow-up drama after the last season of "The Penthouse 3: War in Life."
The actress was last seen in the reality program "We Don't Bite: Villains in the Countryside" led by Penthouse villains Uhm Ki Joon, Bong Tae Kyu, and Yoon Jong Hoon. She guested on episodes 2 and 3 with her Penthouse brother, Kim Young Dae.
Han Ji Hyun made her acting debut in 2018 with the web drama "Soul Driver." She also starred in dramas such as "What a Wonderful World" and "The Wind Blows." She also participated in the 2021 movies "I Bet Everything" and "Seobok."
