Jang Ha Ri, at the age of 39, is the most professional workaholic of the 21st century! In this process of building her road to success, she has neglected her private life completely, never mind her love life, since she has not even thought of dating someone, for over 10 years now. After becoming a respected veteran reporter, one day she has the chance to work in a parenting magazine, on a particular subject, she never stumbled upon, until now: childcare. Gradually, something starts to feel out of place, steering her emotions, especially when it comes to one of her biggest regrets, which is the desperate wish to have a lovely child, as her own flesh and blood. In order to accomplish her newfound goal, she takes a radical decision, that goes more or less like this: "I will skip marriage altogether, but a baby it's a must for me!". A truly firm decision that could leave anyone speechless, at first. But a much bigger dilemma comes her way, when in front of her appear all at once, three totally different men: a freelance photographer, Han Yi Sang, who has a big temper, with a short fuse attached; a quick-witted and intelligent, pediatrician, Yoon Jae Young; and the office newbie, the caring, Choi Kang Eu Ddeum. Now, what's she is gonna do? Who will she choose to be a perfect father, in the end? Will these wacky encounters bring her a blessing in disguise or another unforeseen bittersweet recipe for disaster?
Jang Na Ra as Jang Ha Ri:
This never ageing acting queen, is finally back with a romantic comedy repertoire after 3 years! She is one of the few actresses that seem to have finally found the magical secret to the fountain of youth! I mean, she's almost in her 40's, but still manages to look good effortlessly and act like someone in the mid-'20s (her previous work, may refresh your memory). Nothing, but respect! (I, for one, I'm stunned).
Well, from now on, let's get down to the real business: in Oh My Baby she takes on a different transformation as a strong-willed and determined up to the core character, being a senior reporter that has few or next to none experiences when it comes to the emotional and relational side in general. Due to this, her alias Jang Ha Ri must come to a decision that will have a great impact on the course of her life: resolving her long term desire to have a child of her own. To do that, she has to choose someone willing to be her partner, without involving marriage in this matter. But life does not go as planned since three polar opposite men appear on her alley. The rest of it remains a total mystery...
Let's see inwards what exactly are the qualities and personalities of these men, as Jang Na Ra scrutinizes over them with a keen eye! (Ha, ha, ha...laughing in a corner)
Go Joon as Han Yi Sang:
Playing the role of Han Yi Sang, a photographer who has an emotional and reliable side to him, though outwardly he acts quite coldly towards people. For example, he tends to talk more like this “If you’re lonely, just raise a dog.” She would reply swiftly, “A dog? Why don’t you raise a dog?” He is also dedicated to the single life, seemingly not interested in anything or anyone, but always shows up at the right moment to give Ha Ri a helping hand, just like a knight in shining armor. A contrasting personality with double edges, indeed. One word for him: an all-round tsundere.
Park Byung Eun as Yoon Jae Young:
Jae Young is an assistant university professor. Ha Ri says something like this about him:
“He’s smart, and I feel comfortable around him…” but she adds in her thoughts a tone of disapproval, as she says, “He feels like family.” (like a little way too much, kind of level)
Yoon Jae Young has been friends with Jang Ha Ri since childhood. They grew up together, always bickering, much like siblings. This does not stop here, because they're threatening each other with their embarrassing pasts. The golden opportunity for Ha Ri to use: he also founds out of the blue he's a single father. But each time Jang Ha Ri had some issues or troubles to overcome, he is a friend who can be depended upon. Three words that describe him shortly: bickering, friendly "brother".
Jung Gun Joo as Choi Kang Eu Ddeum:
Ha Ri affirms the next things about Choi Kang Eu Ddeum:
“He’s handsome and is organized. However, when will he grow up?”
He is the newbie employee at Jang Ha Ri's workplace, where she is the department leader in charge. Having the visuals of another level (like borrowing them from a comic book character, blending inside the infinite passion of a new intern, and mixing in some klutzy teaspoons of sugar, with a colorful personality, giving off the perfume of a refreshing child-like innocence) would make him the best choice for an eventual “noona” romance. Lastly, three words that fit him like a glove: a lively, clumsy and lovely fella.
