tvN's upcoming drama Twinkling Watermelon tells the story of a CODA (child of deaf adults) boy, Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) with a talent for music. One day, he mysteriously finds himself in the year 1995, where he meets his father, a young student, and forms a band with him and the young people he meets there.
Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of Lee Chan, Eun Gyeol's father from 1995. Lee Chan is an energetic 18-year-old with a lively personality, like a character straight out of a comic book.
The first teaser showed the first encounter between Eun Gyeol from the future and Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) from 1995, who was a high school student in that period of time.
The newly released second teaser previews the intriguing dynamics between Lee Chan (from 1995), Cheong Ah (Shin Eun Soo), and Se Kyeong (Seol In Ah).
In the teaser, Eun Gyeol vents his frustration upon seeing the banknotes used in 1995, exclaiming, "Why are they still the same?" Not only has he not found a way back to his future, but he is also taken aback by the astonishing sight of his father, Lee Chan, piling up ice cream as a gift for another woman, Se Kyung, instead of his future mother, Cheong Ah.
Feeling a strange sense of betrayal about his father's first love, Eun Gyeol grabs Lee Chan by the collar, saying, "You should like Yoon Cheong Ah". However, Lee Chan, who doesn't know about the future, responds with confusion, asking, "Who is Yoon Cheong Ah?".
Realizing that the past is unfolding differently than expected, Eun Gyeol earnestly implores Lee Chan, "Just stay by my side for one year", in an attempt to change the future according to his wishes.
Twinkling Watermelon will premiere on September 25th on Viki. Watch the teaser below.
