The tvN drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" will reportedly have seasons 2 and 3.
On September 27th, drama officials stated that "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" will become a season system. The second season aims to air during the first half of 2022.
The second season of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" will have the Japanese colonial era as the background while the third season will feature the Joseon dynasty. For the new seasons, they will change the genre of the drama to historical fantasy. The two new seasons will reportedly have 10 episodes each.
For the first season of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed," actress Jo Bo Ah was the female lead. But for the upcoming new seasons, the actress decided not to join the drama. The production team is now looking to cast a new female lead.
"Tale of the Nine-Tailed" started the story of a nine-tailed fox who has settled in the city and a producer pursues him. The first season premiered in October 2020 and it achieved the highest rating of 5.8 percent.
According to reports, director Kang Shin Hyo will return to the new seasons as well as main leads Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum.
The first season was led by Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo Ah, and Kim Bum. Other casts of the drama include Kim Yong Ji, Hwang Hee, Kim Jung Nan, Ahn Kil Kang, Lee Tae Ri, Uhm Hyo Sub, and more. No other details yet if other minor characters will also return to the drama. "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" had 16 episodes.
Meanwhile, this will be Lee Dong Wook's follow-up series after his upcoming drama "Bad and Crazy" with Han Ji Eun, Wi Ha Joon, and VIXX's N.
Kim Bum will also star in the drama "The Ghost Doctor" with Rain and UEE first before the second and third season of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed."
