The tvN K-drama The Uncanny Counter Season 2 is gearing up for release, and the broadcasting platform shared the news that the action drama will hit our screen sometime in the second half of 2023.
The Uncanny Counter follows the story of a group of supernatural beings, called Counters, who are tasked with the job of hunting evil spirits who roam the Earth seeking immortality.
The evil spirits possess humans who have either committed murder or are most likely to commit murder following their strong desire to do so. They egg on these humans to sin, and then eventually consume the victim's spirit taking home in his/her body. And fighting these fiends are the Counters.
The Counters were once normal human beings. But accidents put them in a coma. They were revived by a partner spirit who gave them perfect health along with supernatural abilities.
One such group of Counters live under the disguise of employees at a noodle restaurant to avert suspicion.
Do Ha Na (Kim Se Jeong) possesses the power to locate evil spirits, even if they are hundreds of kilometres away, and read memories through touch, Ga Mo Tak (Yoo Joon Sang) possesses the power of strength, Chu Mae Ok (Yeom Hye Ran) has healing abilities.
This group of Counters gets an unexpected addition of a fourth member So Moon (Cho Byeong Kyu) - a high-school boy who suffers from a disability but is otherwise in perfect health - when the Counter in charge Choi Jang Mool (Ahn Suk Hwan), who is also considered a legend among the counters, is killed.
Season 1 of the K-drama was a hit among the domestic audience. It concluded with a nationwide rating of 10.99%, and the show also reigned over the Netflix charts upon its release.
Season 2 retains its main cast from season 1 but has an addition of new members including Yoo In Soo, Jin Seon Kyu, Kim Hi Eo Ra, and Kang Ki Young in supporting roles.
Hopefully, season 2 will be a bigger hit than the first part. The exact release date of The Uncanny Counter Season 2 is yet to be announced. Stay tuned for updates!
