Upcoming wavve original drama "Tracer" will reportedly air on MBC
According to media outlet YTN on September 30th the drama "Tracer" will not only air on streaming platform wavve but will also premiere on TV network MBC. The said series is set to come out in December through wavve then it will air on MBC in January next year.
The upcoming drama "Tracer" will be led by Im Shi Wan, Son Hyun Joo, Go Ah Sung, Chu Sang Mi, Lee Kyu Hoe, and Park Yong Woo. The drama will be helmed by director Lee Seung Young ("Voice 2") and writer Kim Hyun Jung ("Who Are You: School 2015"). The production is currently in the midst of filming.
"Tracer" is a revenge drama set in the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea. It will depict the story of Hwang Dong Joo, the newly-appointed team manager for the Investigation Bureau and In Tae Joon, the corrupt Commissioner. Im Shi Wan will be playing the role of Hwang Dong Joo and Son Hyun Joo will portray the character In Tae Joon.
"Tracer" will reportedly be part of the Friday-Saturday drama lineup of MBC.
"Tracer" will be Im Shi Wan's follow-up drama after 2020's "Run On" with Shin Se Kyung, Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young, and Kang Tae Oh. He will also appear in several movies such as "Stolen Identity," "Emergency Declaration," and "Boston 1947."
This will be the first drama project of Son Hyun Joo for 2021. He last starred in the JTBC drama "The Good Detective" with Jang Seung Jo. He will also return to the second season of "The Good Detective" in 2022. The actor is also joining the upcoming movie "Spring in December."
Go Ah Sung on the other hand will star in the upcoming drama "Crime Puzzle" before the release of "Tracer." The actress will be working with Yoon Kye Sang for "Crime Puzzle." She last starred in the drama "Life on Mars" with Jung Kyung Ho, Park Sung Woong, Oh Dae Hwan, Noh Jong Hyun, and Jun Suk Ho.
