The upcoming drama "The Glory" will reportedly be added to the original series lineup of Netflix.
According to a drama official on November 30th, it has been decided that the upcoming drama "The Glory" will be shown to viewers around the world through Netflix.
"The Glory" is the latest work of top writer Kim Eun Sook ("Descendants of the Sun") and top director Ahn Gil Ho ("Stranger".) It will be led by Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, and Im Ji Yeon.
According to the production company Hwa & Dam, the drama will be 100& pre-produced. Filming will begin this January. Song Hye Kyo will take a short rest after her drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up" and Lee Do Hyun will join the filming after his drama "Melancholia."
"The Glory" will tell the sad revenge story of a high school student who had to drop out of school due to brutal school violence. After several years, she became the homeroom teacher of the perpetrator's child.
Song Hye Kyo is confirmed to play the role of Moon Dong Eun, the bullied high school student who became a teacher. Lee Do Hyun is still reviewing the offer to star as Joo Yeo Jung in the drama. His character is the one who will help Moon Dong Eun in her revenge. Im Ji Yeon is still in talks to join the drama and her character is not yet unveiled.
"The Glory" is set to air sometime in 2022.
Song Hye Kyo is currently starring in the drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up" with Jang Ki Yong, Choi Hee Seo, Kim Joo Heon, Nam Ki Ae, Choi Hong Il, and more. "The Glory" will be her follow-up project. She will also reportedly star in director Lee Eung Bok's upcoming drama.
Lee Do Hyun recently premiered his drama "Melancholia" with Im Soo Jung, Choi Dae Hoon, Jin Kyung, Jang Hyun Sung, and Byun Jung Soo. This will be his last project for the year. He is set to star in the upcoming movie "Swimming Bird" with Lee Ji Ah and Hwang In Yeop.
Im Ji Yeon is set to return to the drama scene with several upcoming series. She will be starring in the dramas "Money Heist," "Mojito" and "The Mansion." If she officially joins "The Glory," this will be her 4th drama for next year.
