Yamashita Tomohisa left Johnny & Associates on October 31, 2020, after spending 24 years with the company, having started when he was 11.

Fans were shocked when he was allowed to have a public Twitter account, which had previously been banned by the company. In fact, all SNS had been prohibited by the company.
