Chinese Empress:

she was exactly 40kg  at that time if i remember it correctly, and she is 167cm tall. I remember it because she usually weights 43 or 45kg, but she lost some kilos for the drama.
Her being skinny was something that caused her to be blacklisted, unfortunately, because she was afraid of pregnancy.

Thank you for those infomations. I believe you heard that reason about her being afraid of pregnancy.

However, I doubt it because to be able to bear a child, the woman must have a certain level of body fat (26-28%).* Looking at her, I suspect that she was so skinny that she could not be pregnant.

Her agency might have find this reason to avoid scandals and controversies. The solution in that case should have been to gain a little bit of weight. But I suppose that her career in the entertainment industry + her endorsement contracts did not allow her to do so, at the time.

Now that she is blacklisted, she is less in the spotlights. In case she has a partner, she could have a baby in the U.S.

She was skinny but her fear was that her body was so used to be skinny that she can't bear it. It was more a psychological problem rather than a practical one.

Probably, I will never know because I was not her doctor, at the time. And I know how celebrities make public statements and you learn years later that it was not true.

Once again, I believe when you said that you heard this information. I just don't believe celebrities so easily. But this is me. I prefer to analyse the situation using observation.

A famous singer could hide her affair with a music producer and her pregnancy, denying it over and over. Years later we knew that, they had a child and got married and even got divorced. When this child was already an adult!!! She manage to hide a child for almost 20 years and she raise that child. Meanwhile she was a successful artist, doing movies and filming successful series,  selling millions of albums to date. She is a top artist. Now when you look at her music video, knowing that she was pregnant at that point of time, you see how she managed to hide her belly. But, without knowing it. You would never suspect it. Her mother said that her dress was specially designed to hide her big belly.

So you know, I don't believe in celebrity's public statements.

You might wonder:  why did she do all this ? Because she was very young at the time and she was known as the virginal girl next door. In her series, she started as a teenage actor. So she could not let the public know that she was pregnant.

I believe her because i follow her since 2014 and my fav dramas of her is her debut drama. She has always suffered from something, her first love was destroyed because of fans and she become a young beautiful woman with a low self esteem starting with a spiral of wrong love stories.
Her ex called her "pig"... and another one lied to her causing her to be blacklisted, and more, he wanted to live on her expenses while cheating on her...
She was a great actress and a cute extrovert person, i really loved her young love story with one of her costars, very sincere and pure. But she was too hurt by fans.
She was not ill at a psychological level, but she was less cheerful than before and less confident in herself

I understand that you are fan of hers. However, I am not her doctor, I don't believe agency statements. But, as I said before I appreciate her acting. But I am afraid for her because she was very skinny in the drama. Unfortunately, you can tell me whatever you like. I appreciate that you like her, but you will never know what really occures to her, because you did not witness it first hand ( from her, privately). More over this topic concerns her health. How could you know the truth about her health.

Doctor-patient privilege is sacrosanct. Only her entourage knows the truth about what she is doing. This is why I prefer not to believe completly what famous people say.

That being said, I will not argue with you about this topic. This would not be occurate to argue about rumours. It is pointless in my opinion.

If you disagree with Doctor-patient privilege, saying that you are sure that you know about her true health. I am sorry but that would not make sense. And I could not keep chatting with you on this topic, unfortunately.

Apologies - yes we were talking about depth depending  on the format between GA and FbC. And we took an analogy with a movie and a drama as an example. Which led us there. Sorry.

Oh no…the movie version do not do that justice at all.  It’s  like it’s all crammed to fit the movie.

A shorter version can be as interesting depending on how the script is adapted. It is always better to have a longer version with more episodes.  But a shorter version can also cut it.

But for example, the problem with "Go Ahead" was the adaptation of a part of the plot into a romance in "Family by Choice" disregarding the essence of the story, wich was in my opinion : what is really a family.

In the case of "Love O2O" and "One Smile Is Very Alluring" this is almost the same script. So the two versions are very good. And they respect the essence of what the writer wanted to say.

This drama would be a thousand times better if they shot some scenes with the same dialogue.

They could not keep the same dialogues because they would have lacked time. They could have kept the same style and purpose... maybe. (What the dialogue wants to say and how it says it.)

At least, this is my theory.

I think some scenes could've have, if not the exact dialogue at least some of the same lines. For example those father-son emotional scenes.

Anyway...this drama goes from bad to worse each episode :(

I agree with you . Some part of the dialogues would bring more emotion. You are right.

i doubt it. A dialogue won't be useful when the actors should act a traumatised character and they laugh with their eyes.  They should have casted better actors and actresses and better scriptwriter. Even the children in the first episodes are too happy

You have a valid point, acting skills are a must. I forgot they are very eye candy but not so experienced.

By the way could you recommend some ( even old) dramas with skilled actors that are not just eye-candy please. I would be intersted. Thank you :)
