Definitions please

Apologies for my romanized chinese spelling.

Would someone please be so kind as to explain the different types of 'historical' cdramas? I see wuxia, xiaxia (?) and a few others and I am confused as to what they all mean.

Then you also have just ordinary historical dramas, sometimes also referred to as period dramas or custome drama. They usually have low-to-medium fighting scenes and no magics or heavenly stuff.

Usually nearly all Chinese ordinary historical dramas revolve around nobility/royalty, palace, and some story around that being the backdrop.

Then, to much lesser extend, there are more recent "historical" dramas that take place early 20th century (after end of Qing dynasty), republican era dramas, and civil war era drama or war dramas vs japanese.
Example: Arsenal Military Academy.
