  @eliteles1 simps is the mls who do everything for fl and love her unconditionally and tolerate everything from her and even apologize when he don't do anything wrong and chasing her even if she rejecting him and all his life is just for to love fl , and he get gealeous with fl be friends with sml or her ex but he can't say anything about it and even if he get mad she get mad at him for it and he has to apologize about it and in most Cdrama if fl feel gealous she get mad and ml again has to apologize but in many cases mls don't even get near other women exept fl lol and they cook clean do dishes and help fl if she needs help in her work or something this is before and after they get together sometimes it's start even when fl still in another relationship and sometimes after and he has to deal with the ex if he's not a good man lol , this is some of simps equalities, but most of audience call it green forest or flags because the ml has no self esteem or respect for himself and act like a spinless just to get fl and stay with her and all this is worst when fl don't deserve any of it and she just focusing on her career and work and get over her ex ,

    You explained it wonderfully. I have never read such a clear explanation like this. No, the male lead is not like that in this drama, although he sacrifices himself for her, she also sacrifices herself for him. It is reciprocal. He is not perfect, he is a flawed person who is improving, and he shows his inner sensitivity. The same can be said for her. So, in this drama there is a balance.

@eliteles1 yes if fls do the same or even less it will nit be called simping because he do that for someone who also love him and deserve it , so even if he sacrifice his life for them it's worth it and they will appreciate it or even sacrifice for him too and that what call mutual relationship and that they show their love for each other not like most of dramas about feminism so they degrading mls to just puppies lol ,

and what I dislike about writers they always make fl get angry at mls so long if he did a mistake but when it's her who do it ml forgive her so easily and most times he even apologize that he get mad in first lol ,

  I completely agree with you. I don't like this kind of feminism that degrades men. (And I don't see that in this drama). Both men and women are valued, strong and vulnerable at the same time, and their actions towards each other are reciprocal.

  It was explained in previous episodes but here's a summary:
  
  1. YQ blackmailed the priestess and got her to say that his future wife/goddess was in the other country and that she could help with the emperor's goal to achieve immortality.
  
  2. He had no idea what was going on but had already decided he would successful be able to bring ml back with him without even asking her feelings.
  
  3. Once he got back, the situation with the crown princes was occuring and he was able to convince mrjh that he would not be able to protect ml and that only he could protect her as his wife since the old cp would not be able to kill a foreign nation's crown princess.
  
  4. So mrjh gave in, told ml the truth about the poison in a hurtful way and watched yq take her away to safety.
  
  5. mrjh ends up willing the fight last min because lm finally comes to her senses. So now, everything he did was unnecessary.
  
  6. YQ lies and makes it seem like the crown princess thing only came about to save ml and that if she does not go back with him, he'll be killed. She's friends with him, so to save her friend who "saved" her, she agrees.
  
  7. They now have an agreement that once the engagement is successful, the treatment for her poison works and he gains his father's trust, ml will be set free and be able to pick where she wants to go.
  
  That's why she's with yq. To repay him for "saving" her, to save his life, and for the cure to her poison.

  Yue Qin put his life on the line by getting the fake Priestess to declare that the Moon Kunlun was in Yan. He took advantage of the fact that Jinghe could not guarantee her safety if his plan against the CP failed. His agreement made her Princess Zhongshuo even after his defeated the CP. And Yue Qin took her away as the Princess Heir. So she stays with him to keep him safe. She sees that he is good for his kingdom, which means that she will stay with him. But he promised to Jinghe that he would not force her against her will. He blackmailed the Priestess to have him win the title of Prince Heir over Second Rival and then used her to say that the Moon Kunlun was in Yan and by inference Mei Lin. There are different ways to force someone to do your bidding. I suspect that this will lead to their falling out. Once his position as Prince Heir and then Ruler is safe, she can have second thoughts. But manipulate once too often and then al bets are off.

  Actually I saw somewhere on Weibo that it went down cause the writer mistreated YQ and ML fans attacking YQ (BWJ) unreasonably (Not sure tho and it could also be different reason). And BWJ fans are often quiet but there are a lot of them. For example, my friend doesn’t active on here but I came to know that most are BWJ fans and asked them to give it good reviews when the show came out to support it.
  But ML fans should recognize what is drama and what is reality. It’s not good to pull innocent people (the actors) into this mess. This is just a tv drama, how shameful it is to put it on the actor.

    I haven't seen anything happen to the fans of the actors. These fans sometimes (a minority) are a bit deluded, creating fantasies of wars (which absolutely do not exist). If by chance it did happen (it was with a minority of the fans). I have been following the official website of this drama on weibo since the beginning.
    
    PS: And it is clear that the choice of actors was calculatedly thought out to benefit the drama. (And in this way: all the actors have their highlight).
    
    Any problem with the drama is not due to this, (but a planning error of the scriptwriters' plot, as well as the pacing). But... even so, the scriptwriters deserve a lot of praise for a very interesting part of this plot.

  Because some viewers wanted angst and sexual innuendo. They got bored from the village arc. But that arc was neccessary for them to get close to one another.

    I'm waiting for spoilers. If it's bad, I'll watch the first wake up/fake happy ending ala Journey To Love and then just stop there. You know there's always a fake happy ending.
