No is not with Junki but a joke was intended there somewhere between funnier, and Jackie Chan.
On a more serious tone, the drama is the one I wrote a recommendation/review for in ddramatards. You left a comment, remember? lol. I might be asking too much hahaha... :p
I remember very well, and please forgive me if I sounded as if I had forgotten. I assure you I haven't, and the drama's on my next future list no doubt. I just couldn't let the Junki reference pass. LOL
;)
when i start watching Asian dramas ... i never got the idea to drop a drama because i started watching famous dramas .. like you are beautiful , secret garden etc ... but then when later on i came across some dramas that i couldnt even watch .. i found myself forwarding most of the episode .. so i gave up and dropped them ..
i never thought about the creteria thing but you have forced me to think about it :D and am very happy to say that i drop a drama cuz4
story is boring..
i cant relate to main leads..
i find the acting very unbelievable...**
poor chemistry between main leads ..
or all of the above ..
Recently i dropped a drama because i have seen the same story in so many other korean dramas that i got tired of watching it .. that is the disadvantage of watching so many kdramas ;)
I always try to finish the dramas I start, but sometimes when they're still in the "currently watching"-section after weeks without seeing an episode, I give up.
Sometimes I get back to them later, for example Ninkyo Helper. I dropped it after episode 6 and then a few months later I rewatched it from the start and now it's one of my favorite dramas. :D
It's really hard to fight yourself through a drama that isn't enjoyable at all. I don't like it because I have less time for dramas anyway, so at least I want to use it for good dramas. ;)
NinaJade82 wrote: Haha Rita-chan you make me laugh with the "turn to someone else" comment. I didnt even know which quote from Camus to pick, as you well know he is my favorite philosopher. :D There was another quote very interesting, ill share with you later.
As for the pouting I understand you 100% I was just watching Glowing She this morning and her over acting was making me want to drop, but for the second time in like more than 100 dramas, I watch something with the male lead and I have always wanted to watch him as lead. So, Im putting with it for a while longer... episode 3 going now, let's see... hahaha.
Jade is my name in some parts of the globosphere
@Aki-chan... great, you wont regret it. The drama is funnier than Jackie Chan :p
How is Kim Hyung Jun's acting in Glowing She? I'm not sure if I have a specific pattern to how I drop dramas........just if I find that I'm am dreading watching the episode. And not just a little dread but horrible dread.Like with 1% of Anything and BBF, I dreaded continuing them so much that I went over 2 years before re-starting BBF and spent months trudging through 1%of Anything before saying enough is enough. I rarely drop because I don't want to leave a story unfinished. to leave a story unfinished.
Until now I just couldn´t drop any Drama...it didn´t matter weather I didn´t like it...I did just need to watch it until the end.
The reason?I guess it was just, that in my opinion Asian Dramas etc are still a way more better than these in my own country.
Then I began putting all my Dramas I didn´t have the nerve anymore to watch on my on-hold-list and I have noticed lately that I am forcing myself to work on that list because it gets longer and longer....:D That istself is forcing too and I think I will just dare to drop something the next time :p The reason I drop an Drama...? I think it is just when I don´t enjoy anything while beginning it.Don´t know if anyone knows that feeling but I just don´t see any point in me wasting time for forcing anything! I could do better with my time!I have even begun to get an bad conscience because of the watching of totally pointless things :P

He is doing good, I dont dislike him. In fact, I think he is better than his singing partner lol. The main female lead , is the one that is making me wish I wouldn't care about Park Kwang Hyun. But like I said, I have only seen him in one drama as the main lead, the rest, he is always either dying or playing the lead younger and so on... I really wish to see him in all his glory =_=

I agree that a good chemistry is paramount to a drama. Not only in the romantic sense: some dramas have great chemistry between friends, mother and daughter, siblings. When I can't relate to the characters for whatever reason, I can't relate to the whole drama. And I also agree with the main lead thing. I can think of at least two apparently very good dramas I haven't watched because I couldn't go past the male lead. I know it sounds shallow, but some things are felt almost on a skin level.

Yes, I should persevere. Possibly, sometimes we are simply not in the right mood for a specific genre. :)

LOL, I think I know what you mean. Something similar happened to me when I struggled through My Name is Kim Sam Soon. I know it's a very good drama, but I watched half of it through my fingers, because the embarrassment I felt was almost painful at times. I finished that one though. I couldn't fail Binnie, no matter the pain. ;)

Hahaha, I feel guilty because I drop too many, you because you watch them no matter what. Are we sure we are watching dramas for the pleasure of it? ;)
Just kidding. I have watched my share of completely pointless dramas myself. I guess they can be useful as a comparison measurement. :D
When I first started watching drama's.. about 4 1/2 years now.. I mainly would pick and choose based on summaries.. I have completed at least 140 drama's(I am sure there are more but I haven't updated my list in a bit).. out of those there maybe 5 or 6 that I definitely should have dropped (BOF, HYD, PK, etc), but I would feel I have to keep watching, cause I already watched so many episodes, I need to finish it. But, as time passed I decided screw that, if I truly get tired, bored, or really any negative emotion about a drama I will drop it... I have 10 dropped drama's, and most of those had been dropped by episode 3 or 4.. there are a couple that I watched more of, but got so beyond tired/bored with that I dropped, such as Love Buffet. I think in time, most of my On Hold list may end up on my dropped, because, if I have to put it on hold, something was seriously bugging me at that time.
I am at a point now where, more than the drama's themselves boring me, I have a hard time finding drama's to watch, thats why all drama's that are recommended to me, I check out, but I still have a hard time... like 3 of the 4 currently watching drama's are all airing right now.. the 4th I am about to drop.. I guess more than a dropping funk, I am in a drama funk, but I still prefer it to American tv..

Now am curious as to which dramas u dropped... "scratches her chin ;) ...
After reading ur reply i want to add another one ..
Crappy remake of a drama.. for me it is such a turn off when i read a manga or watched an anime that gave me a totally different feeling but when i watched a drama it sucked to the point of dropping ..
Yeah I used to be like Rita & Jeanie at the beginning i would sit through any old tripe but as time has gone by I have become evermore fussy & pernickety & if a drama doesn't grab me early on I just drop it ...I don't see the point of wasting more of my life watching something i am likely to give a 6 or lower that is why most of the dramas on my completed list are a 7 & above :D
oh & what grabs me? it could be any of the following: hot guys/great story/hot guys/direction/hot guys/acting/hot guys/music/hot guys hehehe
