To Forgive is Divine ~

Do you ever love a drama that you know is sub-par but you don't care? Do you find yourself overlooking bad writing or recycled plot devices for the love of the Romance or the actor or actress you fancy? Do you ever FORGIVE a drama just because you want to? I know I do.

What makes you forgive a drama's mistakes? What drama/s have you noticed you forgive the mistakes and love it anyway. Why?

I'll Start:

Lie To Me ~ it has terrible writing. Not all the way through but a lot of it. The writer knew how to write dialog between lovers but he or she did NOT know how to write an actual story. Logically, I know this but I forgive a lot of it because I love Kang Ji Hwan and Yoon Eun Hye.

Their chemistry together was sizzling and their scenes were so cute, touching and sweet. It felt real even within a world that was written so badly there is no way it could be real. I could watch them be a couple all day! That's why I largely forgive Lie To Me. I can't hate it. But I KNOW if that had been any other couple or a couple with any less smoking hot chemistry, I would have HATED IT.


Does anyone else find themselves doing this?

Yeah...I've noticed your tolerance level is low for nonsense. LOL. Which I totally get! Especially after watching Wild Romance almost all the way through and then BAM! Suckage! :(

I'm trying to think of any others I have forgiven so I can add them. I know there is one out there...It probably stars So Ji Sub. hahaha (I'm laughing at myself but it's true)

i forgive mary stayed out all night. it's most glaring flaw for me is the complete personality change in Kang Moo Gyul. i get that love changes people, but he loves Mae-Ri for a while before he turns into a different person, and it happens in the space of a single kiss. befoere the kiss he's all cool and reserved, then after the kiss he's all kitties and bunnies rainbows and cute, but i dont think i could breath with a BF like that. then of course there is the totally over wrought and non-sensical ways they chose to move the plot forward (when it doesnt stall for 2 episodes at a time) i mentioned this in another post. there is heavy use of the idiot plot device in MSOAN. i mean, seriously KMG cant just lock the freakin door? there are misunderstandings a pleanty but no one ever explains themselves, the only explination is that it's a cheap easy way to create conflict, and do the writers really expect anyone to believe that any female chose Kang Moo Gyul over Jung In? Why do i forgive MSOAN? 1st, the cast. Jang Guen Suk and Kim Jae Wook are both so hot in this and even though wardrobe made Moon Guem.. what ever her name is look like a 14 yo bag lady she is very endearing. KJW actually brings a depth to his role that the other characters seem to lack. JGS in this is very nostalgic for me. i've dated a couple of Kang Moo Gyuls in my time and JGS did a good job with the flawed character development he was handed. 2nd. i find it REALLY funny. i dont often LOL in actuality. usually the most you get out of me is a closed mouth chuckle, but there were several moment in this show where i just cackled like hyena on meth.

hahaha! That's actually not the one I was talking about. It would be Cain & Abel. Every scene with Ji Sub Ahjussi I would keep. I liked his acting, his journey and his relationship with Han Ji Min's character. The Brother, the mother and the ex-girlfriend I would ax half of their scenes and cut it down to 16 episodes. I forgive a lot with this drama ~ especially some of the overwrought acting and writing because I loved his character so much. okay...and he's so damn gorgeous he makes my eyes hurt.

And yes it takes a lot to forgive that creepy character he affected in ISILY, and yet, I do forgive it!! Of Course I Do! ♥♥♥

I forgive My Princess, as Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Heon were possibly the cutest things to hit kdramaland, ever. As long as I didn't think too hard, everything was fluffy and adorable and absolutely wonderful. Same goes for Personal Taste (although it was a TEENY bit better), except replace Kim Tae Hee with Son Ye Jin and Song Seung Heon with Lee Min Ho, and you get a couple that I loved even more, somewhat lacking script/story aside.

I forgive Skip Beat for being so fake because....I love skip beat ! And "slightly" because of Siwon I also forgive Hong Gil Dong for having such a bad writer and have cliché pilling up mountain-style (come ON, the dialogs are so...I mean, even in the sad moments, if you just think about what they are actually saying to each other, you just have to laugh! ) because I just fell in love with that drama at the time, and because of the cast. Thinking about it, isn't it how you recognize a truly good actor ? Because he can make you forgive (or even not notice) bad dialogs ?? Except for Siwon....he's just hot that's different...^^ I forgive Orthros no Inu ep1 for copying the Silence of the Lamb and make it a fake J-cliché version....because the rest of the drama was fu****g awesome^^ I.... I don't have anything else in mind....for now.

put me in hong gil dong denial land too. aside from the weird whore house sceenes in the first episode or two i really didnt notice anything. i think i gave it a ten.
