In many school dramas and manhwa/manga, you have almost aways a case of bullying. So, is it a real thing in asia, or just another manga / drama cliché ?

I recently watched a youtube video where 2 english teachers living and working in South Korea tried to know more about it.

What do you think ?

Personnaly I really thought it was a cliché, not something actually happening in Korea.
Sadly, I bullying happens almost everywhere.
Me too, but this video showed that their is really something going on in Korea. They have not one, but two made-up words for to qualify the victims. The F4 system, but just without the F4 and the red card. The whole school turning one person into an outcast, and even if the victime transfer in another school, it's reputation of being an outcast follow. Not every country has the same rate of suicide in the young population as Korea so, it must really be a big problem here. If bullies are all around the Earth, maybe just not in such proportions...
Ahh yes! I have seen that video. Posted it in the Kpop News Flash thread :)
ok ^^ When I watched BBF, I was like "Really ? That far? " But apparently it is not that extrordinary. Maybe it's also why it got such success : "the revange of the Wan-dda"

Unfortunately, bullying does happen all over the world and not much is done to stop it. But there is a movie that was made in order to shed light on it and to take a stand against it. The Bully Project I have not seen it yet, but I have watched a couple of clips from it. Hopefully it will do some good.
ive been a product of bullying b4 ^^

Me too.
It´s really shocking. When the Wan-dda´s are stuck in school the whole day from 9am until 9pm it must be horrible for them!! I watched a movie a few months ago(homevideo) and that theme was related in it too.The problem is like mentioned in the video too when no one wants to get in contact with them and the teachers can´t do much too. But the worst part is when even transferring school doesn´t help anymore.I would go crazy like that. I have been bullied before too but I was lucky because I still had my sister then. Sure there are people who don´t like you for some reasos but mostly of the time they are just envious or jealous. This all here reminds me of "Life"!!:(
I Just came across another article about bullying in South Korea. It's so sad. :(

Bullied student commits suicide. His last text message “If you dare come to my funeral…”
It is really sad:( The bully wasn´t even 14 years old.So the victim wasn´t probably too..... Still he killed himself and then to write such a "last note"~" You see how upset and desperate he was.
