I was sincerely shocked. I was like seriously?! there are actual people who are doing this?
And I also read things about SuJu saesangs, man those one... wow, just wow
The thing is that the majority of saesangs are under 18 and cannot be punished by the law, if I read it correctly...
They need to change their laws...just sayin'...
I'll come back later. I need to finish a book to review and I was sucked in by the title of the thread. *shakes fist at Jeanie unnie* :p

I saw the whole new-wife-is-horrible-blahblahblah when Oguri Shun married Yamada Yu earlier this year. Even though I joked to a friend with a phrase like "aww...another one gone", I also know that I had no chance in the first place. Girls were calling Yamada so many horrible things, and I was shocked. I've always liked her as an actress, and I'm sure that before she married Shun, many of those girls thought so too.
I think his wife is gawjuss. I'm glad that they are happy. ^^
*is hoping they make adorable babies to ooh and ahh over* XD

I googled her. and I remember her from the Nodame Cantabile special. She is Gawjuss. I totally don't get the whole fangirl hostility over this kind of thing. I just don't understand it and I have worse thoughts for the haters too but I will refrain.
If Shota-kun or SJS ever find love I will wish them well. And D will be happy too. LOL!

Well, if we go with all the "you don't know him/her at all" judgment about celebrities, then it really goes the same that you cannot really love a celebrity either cause you have no idea what's he or she like. You can only go "(s)he's talented" and that's it. But we all go spazzing around and fantasizing about being their gfs or whatever (which is still not the point for me hating Yamada cause it's not like we're in a competition or anything). Yes, of course it's only my opinion, but I surely am allowed to have my own opinion. I don't go yelling around that someone should kill her or anything, just leave her out of my sight and I'll be okay.

I hated here long before I had even any idea she was dating Oguri.
Human Rights Korea: The ugly thruth behind k-pop idols
This article is not directly connected to the celebrity/fan relation however I think it nicely sums up the flipside of k-pop groups.

Though idol group members interviewed by Kyunghyuang Shinmun said they understood the benefits of this strategy, many admitted they still felt jealousy and dislike towards more popular members, and anxiety over their own fame.
I think the main problem why this issue arises is because the Korean producers choose to have way too many members in a band. For me, 6 is already many it's just that now I'm accustomed to it. For example, there is a band Supernova which I love a lot, and there are 6 members in them, now one of them's in the army, so seeing only five people on stage is already different in a positive way (though I love the sixth one as well and I'm waiting for him to come back). But how can one imagine having 13 members like Suju, or even 7 or 8 and to expect that everyone will be treated equally? Of course then, with so many members, one has to have some 2-3 main ones by whom to identify the band, that's why unjust promotion is taking place, then resulting in unjustly bias only because the company wants so, not because the fans choose so.

Bullying seems to be a rampant problem in Korea in schools. I am sadly, not surprised it goes on in Idol groups as well.

Yes, I agree. Why having so many members to pay and take care of (like accomodate, dress,...)?
I think that the majority of cases of bullying lies within the concept of "older is superior to younger" which comes from Confucianism's 5 basic relationships (ruler and subject; (2) father and son; (3) elder brother and younger brother; (4) husband and wife; and (5) friend and friend. All, except the last, involve the authority of one person over another.) The dude who we call Confucius lived hell of a time ago so I can imagine that society and relationships is general were in a bit of a mess so he set up these principles. However, when this philosophy spread to Japan, for example, the status of women was lowered because before that they had been even allowed to inherit property (I mean, that's awesome such things happening in Middle Ages...)
So today you're basically allowed to treat the people younger than you like crap but I'm sure Confucius wouldn't be pleased to see this.
I agree with "older and younger" superiority when it comes to strangers or when it comes to official relationships in work (for example, even if your boss is younger than you, he's still your boss), but if the band members are friends, they should be equal, to my mind. On the other hand, the Korean 'logic', I believe, is still better than what we have here in Lithuania. We are supposed to respect our elders, but that doesn't happen often and some young kid who's 2 or 3 younger than you is thinking he's superior cause he's cooler. On the other hand, the old people don't have respect for young ones either, without even trying to see whether that young one is right or not.

Yeah, it must be hard to get along with that many people in a group. I always wondered how Jpop groups like Morning Musume and AKB48 manage. Momusu often gets new members and older members will graduate and move on to different things. They've managed to do this for over a decade and don't seem to have that many internal problems. If they do, it gets handled privately instead of out in the open for the media to feed on.
I think that AKB48 definitely has a lot of internal rivalries and things of that nature because of the fact that the company actually holds contests for popularity and the most popular members get more screen time. It's got to be stressful.

it's one thing to use exagerated language "ooohhhhh i love him!" and "ugh i hate her!" but when fans get on websites and start saying things like were said about miyavi and his wife, well that's delusional. do i love TOP? no. i think he's sexually attractive and i enjoy his music. to me it's no different than a peice of art. but there are plenty of fans out there who are delusional enough to think that they ACTUALLY love their idols.
