It'd be great if there was really going to be a t-version of You're Beautiful, but I'll hate watching it if I end up rooting for the other two guys instead of Taekyung's character again ^^
i was firmly for ren in ikemen desu ne. i liked ren alot better than taekyung
I like both Ren and Tae Kyung, but hate Shu and Shin Woo. I dislike nice guys like that for some reason - I'm never sure if they mean what they say or not. I much prefer guys that are straight with you like Tae Kyung/Ren. XD
shinwoo i liked, Shu came across as wierd/ obsessed and butting in.

Her acting was really good in I Want To Become a Hard Persimmon. :) I think a friend mentioned her being very good in Black and White also.
bakaprincess wrote: I don't know why I'm starting this topic, but I just wanted someone to know what I just found out. I don't know if it's true or not, but when I was reading Jiro Wang's wikipedia, I saw that in his list of dramas he acted in, there's "You're Beautiful" at the very bottom. Does that mean that there's going to be a Taiwanese version of You're Beautiful as well?

And if so, is Jiro going to act in it?

And if so, which role will he have? I was thinking probably Jeremy, but I wouldn't mind seeing him act as Tae Kyung as well - would be interesting to see him portrait Tae Kyung's character. :)

Heard on February that Aaron Yan may be the lead of You're Beautiful, so Jiro Wang might be Jeremy, it's suits him more. I hope Ella would do Go Min Nam... It will be funny if all Fahrenheit is there to play it. Much be more funnier and loveable to see
From my understanding, is that Jerry Yan bought the rights to the Korean version of Y.B., but he is only going to be the producer. Arron Yan and Jiro Wang were both reported to be the lead actors. But the Taiwan company Comic Ritz is looking further into the fact that Jiro Wang's contract ends in October. So it's still up in the air on whose going to be the lead. :)
So I read that Park Shin-Hye is going to cameo there, and can't find ANYTHING ELSE about this drama...

Yes I've also read that here http://www.allkpop.com/2012/11/park-shin-hye-to-make-cameo-on-taiwanese-remake-of-youre-beautiful

I'm really curious about it though...and sceptical too
i would def give it a try. you're beautiful is awesome the 1st time around, but i was past the honey moonstage by the 2nd viewing. i actually perferred the Japanese version to the korean. i also perferred Meteor Garden to Boys over Flowers.
cityhunter83 wrote: i also preferred Meteor Garden to Boys over Flowers.

Actually, so did I in this case, but more so because Boys Over Flowers wasn't very good, not because Meteor Garden was particularly fantastic. Somehow, Boys Over Flowers felt like it dragged a lot more than Meteor Garden did. I've never seen Meteor Garden season 2 though, so if i watched that, maybe i'd change my mind.

As to the main topic, i'm looking forward to another version of You're Beautiful. If i like something, I do tend to watch all of the incarnations (Hana Kimi 1, 2, 3, 4, lol), and it's always fun to see what changes they will make. Ikemen Desu Ne was very similar to You're Beautiful, obviously, but had enough differences for it to be considered its own show. And the Taiwanese versions of things always seem to stretch the source material even more, so it'll be even more different, which at least gives us something new to watch.

Also, hell yes for Jiro Wang please! I can see him as a Jeremy, but if he toned himself down, he could be Shinwoo or Taekyung.
i agree! i hope so! like "hana kimi" right? they have the J-drama,K-drama and t-drama!
I wouldn't be excited about a Taiwanese version. I already dislike To The Beautiful You. Could the Taiwanese make it better than the Korean version or could it just go even more downhill? So, yeah gotta say I'm not thrilled about it. I'd rather anything else than the Taiwnese trying to make a remake of To the Beautiful You. Besides, they already did Hana Kimi can't they just leave TTBY alone? I love Taiwanese dramas but I just don't think remaking TTBY would be a good idea. If they do remake this I won't watch it no matter who was in it. Hell they could get Gackt in a Japanese remake of it and I wouldn't touch it and I love Gackt. Have for years. Oh well I wish the Taiwanese version luck as I love Taiwnese dramas and many of their actors and actresses.

you're thinking of the wrong franchise. There is a Korean drama called "You're beautiful" that aired in 2009 which is a gender bender about pop stars, sraing Jang Guen Suk and the lead singers from CNblue and FT island. a japanese version, Ikemen Desu Ne, was done in 2010 or 2011. this drama has yet to get a tiawanese reboot.
