I usually wait till the drama is completely over before rating a drama. The reason being is that the last episode can make or break a drama, so I don't believe in giving scores before then.
There are exceptions when I have a historical Drama and I am at episode 40 of 56 then I rate it already :) But only when it´s really good~ Otherwise I think of the rating during the last episode(s) Usually I am getting distracted by this then, though :D And can´t concentrate on the Drama... Edit:But like skye mentioned before...the ending can make a whole turning point too~ Well it isn´t that much important for me like it may be for others but when I can´t decide between two scores then it makes the decision then :p

I totally agree! Even looking at other's episodic ratings and comments/reviews can be fun and helpful.

I may seem too "generous" in rating...(I give so many 10..). Maybe I'm too affected by the emotions, giving a rate right after the ending, I'm still absorbed in the drama's atmosphere... ^^'' but I hardly ever change my mind thinking about it later...
My rates are mostly related to the feelings the drama/movie gave me...not often to objective characteristics... ^^''

Lol...same by me :D
i usually rate something by how much i liked it, this changes from episode to episode, but overall i can usually tell by the half way mark. few dramas that arent that great at episode 8 suddenly become fantastic in the last 8 and usually if a drama is going to take a nose dive the evidence of iminent suckage has started to show up around the half way mark. of course there's no strict rule and i will change the rating as i watch. i dont think much about what led to that rating unless i'm writing a review though. it's usually a mix of different things and the importance of the factors changes for me from drama to drama. ex: some dramas have predictable stories and get a low rating b/c of it, others seem to rise above their less than original stories. if i liked something i will re-watch but i rarely change my rating even if i didnt like it as much the 2nd time around.

That is a good point! For example: I watched Goong very early in my Drama Discovery phase. I think I gave it an 8 and I enjoyed it but...If I tried to watch it now, having a lot of drama watching experience and having watched much better quality dramas, I doubt very highly I could give it an 8. I even doubt I could really watch all the way through. But my original experience is what it is and I am not going to go back and change my rating. I will let the memory and the number stand on it's own.
for me the biggest difference b/w 1st and 2nd watching thus far has been You're beautiful, it was my 1st drama and i gave it a 9. The 2nd time around i wanted to shove my head through a plate glass window. it would have been lucky to get a 5, but i still think most people who watch it for the 1st time will get that "9" feeling from it.
I rate dramas/movies on a couple of things: 1. acting of the cast, not just the main characters but the supporting characters as well, 2. cinematography, shots and editing are something I consider in such a visual medium 3. plot, how the plot is executed, conflicts are dealt with things like music, dialogue, and the feel of the overall drama/movie are also important to me but they don't weigh as heavily as the three points above. :)

I like your system a lot!
I rate them when I'm done watching the whole series. My ratings go with how much I enjoy the series. So series I really loved/my top favourites get 10. The ones I really loved, but wouldn't call all time fav would go 9. The ones I really enjoyed get 8, etc.
I refrain from rating dramas until I've finished watching them. But my ratings pretty much have nothing to do with my re-watch value, as they are based purely on my enjoyment at the time of rating and the kind of impact the dramas had on me after I completed the series. For example, I'd highly recommend Confessions (JMovie) though I doubt I'll re-watch it much, just because of the heavy, grim topic the movie brought forward. It's fair to say that I rate dramas as a whole, as a recommendation to others (hence only after I've completed the series, so as to not confuse others with my ratings), but not necessarily something I'd re-watch to relax.
I need to rate dramas while I'm watching them or my OCD drives me crazy; can't stand leaving that blank. My ratings usually fluctuate though depending on how I'm enjoying the drama at the time. As for my actual ratings, I try to rate dramas objectively for the most part; if there's an aspect of a drama that I know was lacking such as the plot or acting, I'll knock a point off even if I enjoyed it overall.
What kind of rater are you? Are you someone who is very harsh and critical and gives very few dramas 9s and almost none 10s? Or are you someone who gives any drama you like a 9 or 10 and have none or almost none with a 5 or below? As for me, well, I'm kind of in the middle. I've noticed that I score dramas similarly to how grades work (at least in the US), specifically grading papers and such. For something to get a 10 it has to absolutely blow me away. I have to believe that it could get an international award if it was more well-known. At the same time, though, that also means that I have never given a score of 5 or below with the small amount of dramas I have watched. For something to get a 5 from me (a failing grade) it would have to be absolutely terrible and atrocious. So far, luckily, I have yet to watch anything like that. This all means that the vast majority of my ratings are 7s and 8s. I've kind of forced myself to give dramas that I honestly don't think are on the same level the same score. There is very little room for me to judge accurately. For example, at the rate Ando Lloyd is going I'm inclined to give it an 8 even though I think it's vastly superior to Majisuka Gakuen, which I also gave an 8. But I also don't think Majisuka Gakuen should get a 7. It's very frustrating. Share your ideas! Do you have a sort of system or pattern to your ratings?
Mmh, I try to balance my ratings out with how much I enjoyed it and how much I'd objectively rate the drama. My 10's are the ones I find absolutely flawless (that's why I only have 3 out of 40 dramas rated 10) and I couldn't find anything that bored/frustrated/irritated me. They also kind of hold a special place in my heart ya know haha.
My 9's are the ones that I find maybe as equally perfect as my 10's but they miss thething that would make me rate them 10.
I don't really rate like the MDL rating system (story;music;acting;rewatch value... thing) though. It all revolves around how I feel when watching the drama and for example, I gave in my latest review (of Monstar) an overall score of 4 even though most of my "separated" ratings were above 4. I was really bored and not interested throughout the drama and no music, no story or no acting could have totally make it up for it, hence the 4.
SORRY FOR THE ENGRISH OKI
Based on how much I enjoy them.
