Eheheheee..thats right.. I am guilty too.. I know I uselly over look flaws if I like certin parts of the drama enough and in BOF it was easy with KHJ in it.. I didn't like LMH at the time so he wasn't a factor.. Actually I found him to be rather ugly..>_<
I have seen almost all of them. No wonder: they are the most popular.

What bugs me is that most popular does not always translate as best, not in terms of acting, plot, script, visuals, filming technique etc. But this is an old trial of mine. I'm aware that liking something does not depend on its being a good product in objective terms, just like we don't necessarily fall in love with "perfect" men/women.

So I wouldn't change that much in the above list, except You're Beautiful and Boys Before Flower, which, despite all good will are average products whose "value" is to be found solely in the good looks of the male leads (mind you, I enjoyed both, but their being top of all times is an exaggeration).

As weird as it sounds, I loved BOF when I started watching...and then the episodes just kept on dragging on and on, and sure enough, the female lead character began to get on my nerves -_- But I was superbly addicted to it for the first 15-16 eps(All dramas should end with 16- episodes. I like my dramas short; a habit of having seriously bad internet speed).

Looking back, I think I might have just watched it for KHJ XD.

@ohmiya I also didn't like LMH in BOF much; it had everything to do with the hair :)

Yes *high fives* for KHJ..lol..I know what you mean about the length.. That is another reason I like Jdramas over Kdramas.. They don't drag out as much.
I totally forgot Toma-chan was in Maou *slaps forehead*

Such a difficult question! hehe It would depend on whether I had to answer with my favorites, the ones I think were best from a literary critic point of view, or the ones that I thought would be the best for a particular person or viewership.

Some additional options are (in no particular order):

Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu
Love Shuffle
Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi 1 and 2
Brother Beat
Himitsu no Hanazono
Aishiteru
Trick

I have only seen Love Shuffle out of those but I do agree it is a great drama!

You should add them to your plan to watch list, hehehe.

The top five from the poll aren't bad, but I wouldn't say they are the best examples of what Japanese scripted television has to offer. I haven't watched 1L yet because I'm not sure I can take the depression, lol.

And it is very depressing.. It is a drama where they try to make you cry every episode..

I think I will start with Trick.. Abe Hiroshi-san right?

Yep. and Ms Gokusen herself, hehehe. It's old so it has a cheesy quality to it (you can see where newer dramas have copied it), and of course the visual quality isn't as good as it is now, but I think it is wonderful when you take when it was produced into consideration.
I will.. Downloading it now.. Will start it when I have 2-3 eps done..
i have seen 13 on the list... those were really good dramas...
I've only seen 5 & 1/2 of the dramas on the list and for story wise i think Secret Garden & Nobuta Wa Produce should be higher. Since it's a popularity contest the tops aren't that surprising.
I've seen nine dramas on that list, and to be honest, the only dramas I'd agree on being on the list would be Hana Yori Dango for J-Dramas, although it should've been higher, (I can't believe Hana Kimi took first -.-) and Autumn's Concerto for T-Dramas. As for the K-Dramas, because it is a popularity contest I expected those to be on the list, except for Full House (goodness, was it always so popular?), so there's no surprise there for me.

If I really had to choose the dramas to go on that list, I couldn't tell you what I'd choose since the dramas I've watched are mostly those popular ones that could've been better in terms of quality. Besides, I haven't even watched that many dramas to begin with so my opinion wouldn't really be a valid one, considering it'd be mostly subjective.
I have seen all except for one: The Magicians of Love. I wanna rant as to why most of them are in the list and what are the voters thinking (I mean, it's Top Dramas of All Time for god's sake!) but I should know better. Polls such as this tend to be a popularity game. And I for one am guilty.
- I'm surprised that Nobuta one-upped HYD. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nobuta. It’s simply beautiful and intricate – they deserve being there. But HYD, aren’t they more popular? They even have a movie. I though it’d be first. Hmm., never thought Yamapi and Kame has such influence. ^^
-Kdramas. Ha, why am I not surprised?
-Eh? Devil Beside You #1? I was thinking it would be Fated to Love You. Why, they even hold the highest average single-eps rating and even made a second instalment. :O Mike He sure has many fans.
