I’m going to be honest in the fact that I tend to dislike many dramas that are extremely popular or that I have watched and felt were extremely overrated, and I just wondered if anyone else is like this? I generally seem to like the dramas that many people didn’t like or say was boring or ‘annoying’.

Even though it seems pretty well rated, for instance, I adore She Is Beautiful (2018), but I’ve never actually heard anyone talk about it and I feel it’s looked over most of the time.

What dramas do you feel are overrated / underrated and why?

I will never get over how disappointed I was in Kill Me, Heal Me. I was bored through out, and I think the FL actress just isn't one I especially like, as I haven't really liked any of her dramas (though I have rated them all higher than Kill Me, Heal Me).

Another overrated one is Goblin. At first I didn't rate it VERY low, I originally gave it an 8, but the further away I get from it the more I think that was a bit high. I had just gotten into dramas after a few years last summer only for Goblin to put me into another slump halfway through the drama. There were a few things that didn't really sit well with me. I wasn't really invested in the main couple and their age difference bothered me a bit, for some reason I was under the impression we would get a time skip early on, and her being so young would only be for a short time.

Honestly, I can't think of any that I would say I feel are underrated. While I can name one (Unemployed Romance) I know for sure it's overall rating is less than a 7 that I gave an 8.5 for, I can completely understand why it's rated so low. I can't even say it deserves a higher rating, even though I really enjoyed it.

I know this will probably a very unpopular opinion since most who saw this years ago loved it, and from what I know it's still pretty popular, but here goes:

From 2004 the Korean drama: Lovers in Paris. I just couldn't connect with the characters therefore didn't like any of them. I found the FL extremely annoying and I didn't like the main actor in this at all.  Also the ending of this drama ruins it all. Maybe it could have been a little salvageable if not for how the script writer chose to end this drama but alas huge mess in the end.

If I say I really hated Itazura na Kiss (And I rarely use the word hate) then I really mean it.

I can´t tell you how much I hated/hate this drama. I can´t believe a series could get a 2.5 from me, but this series managed it.

I didn´t even started Playful Kiss because I heard that Itazura na Kiss is better and I literally had a stroke while watching Itazura na Kiss.

I think Birth of Beauty, Wednesday 3:30 P.M,Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me, Takane to Hana, and My First First Love are underrated.

Okay... My first first love isn´t really UNDERRATED but personally it hurts me that Itazura na Kiss 2 has a better rating than My first first love (Ouch)

Itazura na Kiss is also the only drama I really DROPPED. Usually I put dramas On Hold and never drop a series but I just couldn´t bear this shit. I´m sorry for all the people who like Playful Kiss and all their adaptions but I just can´t stand them.

Late, but honestly, I would say The Untamed is overrated... though "extremely" might be a little bit of an overstatement. It's by no means a bad show, but compared to other shows out there, I don't think The Untamed really warrants an overall rating that's higher than 9.0 on MDL?

First, the story. I don't understand some modifications they chose to take, such as having Jiang Cheng show a bit of a crush on Wen Qing. I didn't see a lot of point in that. On the flip side though, I can understand the different direction they took with Xue Yang. There were some episodes or moments where it felt a bit stagnant, boring, or a bit confusing or assumes a watcher to have some level of understanding of the source story. I won't say the ending was not happy, but I feel like they could have put more effort into it to bring some more impact. It was satisfying, but not as impactful as it could have been.

I also really don't think some of the actors, main and secondary, truly understood their roles until a good several episodes, really... even for other difficult roles like Lan Wangji. Some actors were great, but others were a bit lackluster in comparison or had to take some episodes to "warm up". Also... the CGI. The only people who could praise that show's CGI are people with painfully low standards. Some were stiff, and others were cringe. There didn't seem to be a lot of research put in handling musical instruments. They didn't even try to synchronize fingers to the BGM. Some settings or props felt a little shabby to me. I understand that this show had low budget, but I don't think that's a reason to just turn a blind eye to the effects of their low budget.

I hope Immortality, a high-budget project, will do better in this regard, since reading the novel, it seems 2ha has a fair amount of... decorative settings, and I know they have generated huge profit from The Untamed. Again, I'm not saying this is a bad show, and I think there are plenty of good things about the show, including character depth, bromantic chemistry, and exploring deep themes, but I think there are too many little things that would "bring down" a show's rating. Do I think this deserves somewhere around an 8.4 or 8.5? Sure, easily. But 9.1? I think there are shows rated in the 8.3 to 8.6 range, Chinese or otherwise, that are on equal standing with The Untamed, in my personal opinion.

I didn't like a lot of popular 2019-2020 k-dramas except for Kingdom and The World of the Married. I agree The Untamed is also overrated, I don't usually watch c-dramas but just wanted to see what the hype was all about. A lot of people got obsessed with it even after it ended but I didn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

and You Who Came from the Stars was boring too.
