I also don't like how gay characters are portreyed, even in new dramas (like Awaken or even Vincenzo).

The best gay character I've seen so far in a korean drama was in Secret Garden.  It's ironic, because this drama is so old and criticized a lot nowadays. I hope the Sol's plot would be as good as Han Tae Seon's.

What about Love with Flaws? I reaaaaally liked Cha in Ha's love  story. It was incredibly sweet.

There has been Bi characters in KDrama history, and it's been explored more in the lesser-known webdramas and family dramas that are more complex with more storylines attached. Though it's not outright said, it's implied in one way or another.

In the case of this drama, I think it's a one-sided type of love. It would be surprising if they go into depth with sexuality at this point. At 18 and and Cheese in the Trap are the only ones I've watched with male gay characters but they were brought in and thrown aside.

In the new age of dramas such as Itaewon Class, and even Romance Is a Bonus Book- other parts of the LBTQIA+ spectrum I think are starting to become more mainstream due to social media from the West... but only time will tell.  Heck, in Revenge Note 2 there was a character who was considered more masculine and multiple characters mistake her for a boy.

I have no problem if Sol turns out to be Bi. Slowly realizing her best friend wouldn't be good for her and ended up falling for the guy she spilled coffee on, instead. People can fall in love with someone for their personality, not because of their gender. That'd be good representation too.

i would kind of disagree, its definitely not one-sided in this drama. they are clearly setting it up to show they both like each other.

  1. I frankly don't want that lesbian WLW have almost none happy story  representation in Kdrama especially we are in 2021 korea need to step up there are thousands straight story for straight people . They always make WLW story back to straight . I dont want that again if Sol is WLW she better be with any women then men . Acting as if women can't live without D€€k isn't representation . Just because being jealous doesn't mean that relationship is toxic, she doesn't know its love yet . It takes time . Women doesn't need men for better relationships.  If they again make her stay with men I swear I will start petition to never make WLW character if they can't give good ending to wlw its better they don't profit of it . Back in past lesbian are always shown to end up with men always degrading lesbian relationship as If they exist for male pleasure . Some of us only watching for WLW they better not make endup with guy . I dont trust netflix with wlw story they either make them kill or break up

  1. my boyfriend is trans,  I am genderfluid I know how it works.  Gender and sex are too different thing.  In this drama the guy is straight cis Then why Asian lesbian movies out of 100 wlw character 90 of them endup in straight relationship . Why always wlw ,? We never see a gay men being straight at end why always lesbian character need D€€k in asian lesbian drama its mot the first time that's why I am angry.  If they can't make lesbian character with wlw repsentation they need to make one side love or just show they are straight always queerbaiting not validating lesbian character . He is not trans nor those things so don't take the topic of genitalia.  If they can't give wlw character they need to show no wlw element because no real lesbian choose men over women or will be happy in life that's the reason most of us pan and omi date trans ( gender non-cofrming ) peoples . Its just its 2021 they need to change the thinking of lesbian people exist for only p==r= movies . Movies dramas plays huge right now but wlw only exist in yuri or p==n why can't lesbian get clear representation of their relationship without twisting it

I would love it if the story explores bisexuality. Sexuality is a spectrum, it’s not either this or that. Sol can like whoever she wants.

one reason is that there is a lot of conservative values and people who are against anything lgbt+ in asian countries (and just worldwide). also to point out something from you other comments, if they are lesbian they would not end up with a man, so if anything the characters you are referring to are bisexual. however, i don't think that sol is bisexual i think she is gay and that she will end up with her friend. i understand there is a lot of fetishization in the media of lesbians but i don't think they're doing that in this drama, so there isn't reason to be mad in this comment section (yet.. if they do that in the future episodes than be mad all you like).

I think so, I immediately sense a vibe with Sol I thought at first it was an unrequited crush, but now they made it abundantly clear that Jiwan likes her as well (I believe she hasn’t realized her feelings yet) but I think seeing Sol with that guy was sort of a wake up call for her, that’s why she had  that jealousy outburst. The point is that I’m not sure they’ll actually go for the wlw storyline, in my experience I’ve never seen this being explored in a kdrama so it’s hard for me to believe they’ll make them a thing, but in the other hand there are SO MANY hints/moments that are clearly more than friendship, so what was the point? Are they just queerbaiting us? but for what? They could’ve  made them being just  friends and call it a day, but they specifically wrote the mutual jealousy and the pining so I really don’t know what to think
