Hara-Kiri : Death of a Samurai (aka Ichimei)

I've recently watched this movie, directed by Takashi Miike, starring Eita, Hikari Mitsushima and Ebizo Ichikawa. This movie is violent, beautiful, poetic, deep and heartbreaking and it's wonderfully acted.

It is officially in the competition of this year Cannes' Festival !

This movie is the remake of a 1962 movie that won the Palme d'Or in that same Festival. It is a very rare thing that a remake is selected for Cannes, but this one is an exception.
