Like I said, I watched this early into my Kdrama obsession so I didn't really have one at the time. I am not sure this would have attracted me were it to come along now. Full House 2 doesn't interest me at all. It would take some serious raves and glowing opinions to get me to even consider watching the second one. Especially after I saw the pictures of all the poo hair going on in that drama. lol.

This was the first drama I watched where I remember distinctly the presence of Korean food being a repeated highlight in Kdramas. It is also the first one where I noticed infuriating plot points or characters. I don't want to spoil those who haven't watched but Spoiler------> The fact that her friends were able to sell her house...SELL HER HOUSE?! out from under her is a serious glitch in logic and I had to really suspend my disbelief on that. How is that even possible? Also...she always seemed to be cleaning the house...cleaning cleaning...it started to drive me batty. The cuteness of the main couple saved this drama for me. I had to find out what would happen to them. <--------end spoiler.

LOL so true.
This drama never attracted me! Is it really that a good drama to be a classic?
I define a Kdrama classic as a drama that is 5 years or older that had good ratings and was wildly popular at the time. Full House definitely falls in this category even if it's popularity and people's opinions have waned with time.
Hmm classics don`t have to be great.

but i really did like this drama the story was pretty good and i enjoyed the chemestry of the leads.

one thing that also bugged me was the clothes i know it was a long time ago and the fashion was different but some of the stuff rain wore looked weird :p lol

Well, I agree and disagree. If you look at the definition of "Classic" in the context of classic literature or classic films then yes...They really sort of do have to be great. They are most often critical and popular successes that have stood the test of time. I confidently feel that most would consider a classic...something great.

But I agree in that if you look at some of the dramas I posted and categorized as "classic Kdramas", a lot of people would beg to differ that they are "great". Myself included. But again...I stand by my definition of the threads I started.

Thank you for your understanding.

It definitely is a classic, even though I dont love it. It's one of the most widely known dramas, even among Koreans in the US lol. A classmate of mine could even whistle the theme song and he wasnt even a fan of dramas.

:) Yup, I agree. There are so many Kdramas that a lot of people are crazy about but I sit back and just scratch my head in wonder. The point of these threads is really to draw attention to them for newcomers who may not know about them. People who aren't aware of them may appreciate the recommendation and give them a try. I've got a few more days worth. ;)

Not to go too off topic, but I just started Stairway to Heaven, and it's definitely one of the classics.

I have that on the list! (It's being added right before the "season dramas") I have a plan! lol

btw...just so I don't threadjack my own thread, Rain was super hot in this but yes his wardrobe sucked! He looked like a 70's disco dancer. Oh well...

I don't like Rain =/ Which is one of the main reasons this drama wasn't "up their" for me. AS for why I dont like him...i'm not sure.
