I love this drama. <3

I can't believe Im so overwhelm as Im typing this, but yeah... I first saw Nam Goong Min in One Fine Day back in 2007 when I started watching dramas, and since then I have wanted to watch a drama with him again.
When I started watching, I read comments from others that were ahead in the story about how despicable a person (if you can call it that) the father is. Im on episode 22 right now, and I agree that the father is horrible, but I don't feel anything for this character. I don't feel anger at all, because from the start, when the incident happened (I wont say so that I dont spoil the drama too much) I saw that this character was going to be that type of character; the one to be horrible. Plus, his actions were clear as to what he really wanted from the beginning, so there was no surprise there. I knew he was horrible!
The character Im really angry at is the mother of CDJ. Why? Why? And why would you do something so horrendous to someone who has given your son nothing but love. Im sorry but her excuse is miserable. I will write in white the spoiler:
She took M-Oppa because she saw an opportunity to exact revenge against the monster she has for a husband, since M-Oppa was a confused and lost kid who wanted nothing but a mother. She gave him love, fake love, but affection it was still. Instead of helping him overcome his fears of abandonment and sent him back to his family, she took him and manipulated his feelings for them, until she got what she wanted... up until this point (im still on episode 22) Then she goes around distorting the truth to her convenience. Telling CDJ how hyung is worse than his father... I HATE THIS WOMAN! IM SO ANGRY AT THIS PERSON. I feel so sad for oppa. Yes, its true he abandoned his family, but he was a kid who wanted a mother, he wanted the love of a mother, and he didn't have that. He was selfish, wrong, but he had to live with that pain for 16 years, and this lady took advantage of that.
I was looking for the differences between her and her husband. The reason why I can easily deal with having to look at her husband and not feel anything, but be completely disgusted when she appears. I found it in this episode, JH tells his father: "What you did unknowingly is not a sin, its a mistake. But I can't forgive a sin committed knowingly, ever." I know the father is a sinner, so he really does not deserve to hear these words, but JH is just padding the head for now, I can tell. These words where meant more toward his fake mother, especially the end of the quote; and I hope that she loses CDJ to a certain extent. I mean, I hope he somehow tells her to FO. That would be poetic justice, not to the horrible father and mother of oppa, but to oppa himself. He lost a mother, now she should lose a son.
That woman is a manipulating witch. I hope the remaining episodes prove me wrong about her... there is still hope in my heart. I hope for oppa, for his sake (although like Mary said, going back to his real family is what is best for him) Im completely sickened with this lady.

Okay, so now I have to go back to watching the episode. I got all of that off my system (SIGH)

I love Cha Dong Joo, but I feel more emotions when oppa is on the screen, because his character has more issues to deal with and he is a victim, for once in a drama the second lead is a VICTIM! It feels as though Cha Dong Joo is the main character only for the romance involve, and the cute moments, but the rest of the hurt and pain and suffering is all oppa and he is leading OH SO WELL! My heart is split in two in this drama... CDJ and oppa. Now Im really off, you caught me as I was going haha :P
Just watched ep20 - Glad I had tissue box on desk! I really am enjoying this drama - all I can say is it better end well or I will be really annoyed!

it's one of the best dramas of 2011 imo..hopefully you'll enjoy it till the end..i did too...Kim Jae Won was fwigging brilliant!! ^_^
I just finished 20 now, I think Ma Roo is just fracturing, I didn't find him creepy, more like I wanted to call the suicide hotline for him. In this episode it's not that he's still ashamed of his "dad" it's that he's ashamed of his own behavior. When his dad grabs Dong Joo, Ma Roo is seeing as an adult how his actions as a child affected his "dad". He was already upset because he feels responsible for the grandma, who makes him "the bad guy til the end". In his mind Ma Roo has lost everything- his real father wanted to abort him, his real mother abandoned him, his brother doesn't need him, his Woo Ri doesn't see him as a man, his grandmother doesn't remember him, and his "dad" is so afraid of embarrassing him - the last straw being finding out that his "mother" knew who he really was and was using him. You can almost see the pieces just falling off. Like when he gets into the fight with Dong Joo, to me it almost seemed like he was saying goodbye. I think Nam Goong Min did a great job expressing that unraveling feeling within Ma Roo.

I think overall this drama is really well done. It just really better have a good ending!

The only thing I have a problem with is the "mom". Every time she is plotting something all I hear in my head is "I'm ready for my closeup Mr. DeMille" by Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard!

I just started watching two days ago and I have to kick myself for not watching this before. The kids were amazing. The guy who plays Ma Ru's dad (I mean the real dad not the sperm donor..) is doing an awesome as a person with a handicap. I totally believe it.

I think Nam Goong Min and Kim Jae Won are doing a great job. I have regained my long lost love for KJW. I think as adults they kind of switched personalities since Dong Joo was always the approachable one and Ma Ru was the little ogre.

I just finished ep. 8 and when Ma Ru told Woo Ri "Woo Ri-ah, Mianhe" I teared up a little. He may make something up, like he was saying it in Ma Ru's stead, but bah!

OK, now...Woo Ri-ah's hair....The actress who portrays her is one the prettiest lead actresses I have encountered in a Kdrama, why did they do that to her hair? She looks so much prettier with longish hair and not that mushroom do. Ok, I let it our of my system...lol

i somehow never had any problems with woo ri's hair or woo ri for that matter..and you know how i never really like the females of any drama lol..the chemistry between dong joo and woo ri was crackling imho (h=humble lol)

I'm only on ep. 8, so I can't really say anything about their chemistry yet.

I do like the bromance between oori two namja...lol

I don't have a problem with the actress or the character (I actually like her, which is very very very rare), Just with her mushroom too hairdo. :p

aah the bromance was great..although most people preferred PTB's bromance to CYHMH..I personally thought CYHMH's was way better than PTB's..

I think it is better now that I'm watching it.
