There's something I wonder...Mommy dearest, she kidnapped him (Yes! Kidnapped!) because she wants revenge on the surrogate mother and the sperm donor, but does she ever really start to love Ma Ru? I'm confused because she acts like she does, but at the same time I remember what she first said when Ma Ru went to beg for her help in the hospital and it all becomes a mess in my head. LOL <--Rhetorical question PLEASE DON'T ANSWER.... I'm sure the drama will give me the answer in due time...lol

OK, she just said to herself that she will make Ma Ru just like him (the donor). A shadow of Dong Joo and her....I feel bad for the guy. I mean Ma Ru was a freaking brat and sometimes I wanted to smack him for being so mean and hurtful to his family, especially his dad. But he doesn't deserve what this woman wants to do to him.

What I understand is why Ma Ru has so many issues? And I don't mean before the "mom" tried to throw Dong Joo off the cliff?

I think it's normal for kids to feel embarrassment towards the parents sometimes, but it's not like he had a horrible life. He was loved, so much that he's already 30 years old and they are still looking for him. That's what I don't get. That woman has done more damage than his "pabo" dad....

lol at "pabo"..first i thought you were saying something in spanish...i read again and realised you meant fool/stupid/dumb lol...
and yes i failed to understand that either (at first)...and i was so angry lol...
but then i thought about it later and realised he was actually embarrassed to go back..he thought the only way to save his "pabo" (lol) dad and woo ri was to leave them and tag along with the cruella mother (when he was all but 13 yrs old)...so he prolly always had that guilt in him that he left them when they needed him the most..

I can see he was matured, at least in the way that now it's more obvious the feeling of guilt than when he was a kid. Had the fire, death of his step-mom, and jail happened, he would have come out of his shell. He was on his way before it all happened.

But he now has this fear of being abandoned by that woman. And you can see, it pains him to not just come out and say it. But dude you are over 30 years old, come on!

I am in LOVE with this drama, I can't put it away; it's so well done! It's interesting becaise of the characters. I am at episode 15 already. I am just so gutted that that Granny's daughter is so pathetic... she clings so much to the worst person *fumes* and she's just impossible. But the person she clings to is probably the worst of all. I just couldn;t believe him in the first episodes... I absolutely adore Bong Wo Ri's father! He's so adorable, so great! He is talented also, and his heart is so beautiful! Aww, Yong Kyuy was so happy in the first episodes. He brings a lot of wamrth and joy around himself and I like his friend, that guy's funny. I love Bong Wo Ri herself, since she comes out as a very loving character. A very strong character, for sure. I think it IS pretty well balanced and heart-warming all in all. I love how tender this drama is and how it captures the family relationships and particularly how sensitive it is to the disabilities and how it shows so many good things about people against whom there are so many narrow-minded prejudices! I like the brothers too, Ma Roo is so lost and this sense of blame ( he is going through such a purgatory and I hope he emerges all the better for it) and he is sympathetic for it, really and he appears to be really strong and determined but he's also such a coward, afraid of breaking. This is a really good lesson for it, I"m hoping he will get over all this and return to being with his family. Dong Joo is also lost in a sense and he has strength too. But I think he;s had quite enough of his father and it's really making him very tired. I can see some rivalry looming ahead but it;s thew typical drama contrivance for plot, so I suppose it's all right. The character are important, and they are a very sympathetic ensemble with lots of gray in them. Very interesting. Well I wonder what happens next...

I take back all the things I said about Ma Ru oppa before I fell in love with him! LOL I didn't love this drama, it got boring and old fast. And I was sick of the main leads, I skipped most of their parts towards the last episodes. I gave it a 7, which in my case, is a pretty high score for it but that 7 was all for Ma Ru oppa and Young Gyu (this guy was awesome).
