I'm talking about the Ajusshi who gave the exact same pearl ring, except different sizes, to the three women in the house.
i'm guessing it has something to to with the fact that in the past divorce was seriously looked down upon in korea. it was something you just didnt do. it could even effect your work life.
if a married couple were unahppy together and didnt want to be social outcasts, you can sort of see "live in mistress" being a quirky solution to the problem. if i was a woman who didnt particularly like my husband, i'd get along with his mistress too. as long as she's keeping him....happy.... i dont have to!
