Oh my sweet giddy good god! I am so floored! It's Captain Justin Bieber! NO they did not do that!!! NO. But oh my god..yes. They totally did. That has to be the best post in here so far. And I love the irony (?) of those guys speaking extremely crap English and making fun of someone for not knowing any. I think there is a scene in The Snow Queen that is similar and Oh My does Binnie butcher the language. Hey boys...don't come to America and speak like that...you will be tortured verbally.

I have to share this clip from the drama Goong(don't worry no spoilers!) In this scene the guys are trying to make fun of the girl for not beeing able to speak English.... just listen to them. I'm dying of laughter!! :D

I totally understand that girl, I wouldn't understand what they are saying either... It doesn't even sound like English.

I think I would be fun if in some drama in such scene they would be making fun of someone like that, and then that person should respond with perfect English accent :) - and who's laughing now? ^_^

Yes, that would be great... And if the actor can't do that (Which is clearly what was happening in the above) than why even include the scene at all? I don't get it.

I think the only drama I have ever seen with a Korean speaking perfect English was Secret Garden and by Phillip Lee who was raised (mostly?) in the US. Oh, I also think Han Ye Seul (Spy Myung Wol herself, who was also raised mostly in the US) can speak perfect English too.

The best English I have heard in a Korean Drama was in Sweet Spy with Dennis Oh or Oh Dennis however you want to say it... But other than that, I haven't heard really any good English in a drama, or not enough that I could point it out...

Did you see Phillip Lee in Secret Garden? Maybe he didn't speak enough English to register but he had a few scenes where he spoke. His English is totally perfect. But again, I actually think it is because of his upbringing. I haven't seen Sweet Spy. Was Dennis Oh raised in the US too? his Americanized name would suggest that. ??
daniel henny and binnie's skinny ex are perfect in my name is kim sam soon. the shoe designer friend in i need romance 2 is good. there are a few instances in i do i do.

however, anytime a character is said to have good english or brags on thier own english it is nigh unintelligible. my personal favorite is Hyun Bin in the snow queen. it's esp. funny b/c he's mockign another dude's english, and when you hear other dude talk it's obvious he lived in the states. his english is damn near perfect.

also just for kicks, Kim Hyun Joong from SS501 sounds like some one making fun of a swedish person speaking english.just watch the 1st 20 seconds or so.

It never registered for me.. as for Dennis Oh, his mother is Korean and father American, so yeah he was probably raised in the states.. could have not been tho, I dunno...

Yeah, that Snow Queen scene is actually here somewhere on MDL. I can't remember where or who posted it. It is hilarious. And I forgot about Hee Jin from Kim Sam Soon. Her English is perfect too... Daniel Hennay is totally an American man of Korean descent so..it's actually his Korean that SUCKS! but hey...at least he knows it and admits it. Unlike some of the characters from these Kdrama scenes we have watched.

I love Kdramas! ♥ crap engish or no.
The most ridiculous things I have heard in dramas come from JDramas...
The best way for the drama to spoil all its impression for me, is to have this quote in it 'Me and my boyfriend have decided not to talk to each other until we realize our dreams'... I mean WHAT THE HELL??? There are so many dramatic things added in Japanese dramas, that are really not so dramatic, but really ridiculous and idiotic... students are graduating high school? They are sure they are never going to see and talk to each other... People start working? They don't have time to call each other... Somebody moves to another city? Separation forever...don't ever dream of seeing each others face, just forget each other... guh~ this things really are ridiculous for me...
cityhunter83 wrote: so i have to wonder, do they know that it says asshole? do they know what asshole means? literally or figuratively? why didnt they go ask an english speaker. to quote simon from eat your kimchi "get a white friend!"

you watch simon and martina too! I love them but haha yeah that shirt is hilarous!

hahaha we see alot of ridiclous things. Its funny, its defently not a bad thing i find it rather cute when they try and speak english or when someone is translating it. It shows just how different our languages are because some things in korean u cannot translate exactly into english
i was watching PS man the otehr day and noticed, through the subtitles, that Lan blue was supposed to have said something in english, i had to rewind it twice and listen really hard and i was still like "well...i guess that could be english..." but it's lan blue, he's REALLY hot so i dont care about his english.

The language! especially the French in CA, it was painful and ridiculous.
