I've always wondered this: just how much do you think of a variety show scripted? I know that at least the process of things is scripted, and for some shows like We Got Married, even down to the conversations. In the last Running Man episode (155) it was very clear that the WHOLE thing was scripted; as in the order they were caught in and that everyone knew about the Ghosts from the very beginning. I guess that kind of bothered me cause I always (naively) thought that at least the chase part of Running Man wasn't scripted. So yeah, my question is, just how much of variety shows is scripted? What are some shows that are overly scripted and what's your opinion on it?
I already know about some parts of variety shows(Running Man) being scripted, but that doesn't hinder me from having fun watching the show! The order the Running Man members were caught might be scripted, but the way on how they were caught wasn't. I even doubt that the whole thing was scripted. Or maybe its because when I watch Running Man, I tend to accept and just watch everything for fun. But that's what the show really is for right? Being scripted isn't always a bad quality, sometimes(actually most of the time) its done for fun's sake especially in variety shows like Running Man. For me a show like Running Man being scripted is alright, since its done for the better. But if it was for reality shows or battle shows, its not alright.
I kinda belive that most is scripted. Amount depends - does there is any quests who has onlt little variety expierence and come mostly to promote itself and to add some audiense from their fandom to show, its 50/50 deal. In RM i belive that for main cast there is some liberties for do improvisations and there is moments what just happen and they must find way to solve things so that it goes back to tracks ( i have noted few times in RM this happening). Some competition outcomes are prescripted but there are competitions where outcome is let to fall free. WGM has most of scripted scenes but some tiny moments are left free. And the way how they play out scripted plot is most interesting part of this show bc it lets you peek behind acting, whats actually is going on. Mostly you can guess what pair was ended bc they got bored/annoyed by other party or what pair drawned into dream too deeply and was separated for their own good or what pair left bc they want start real life thing without camera peeking from every corner or what pair got really busy outside shedule and lacks time or what pair just was not interesting anymore for audience. WGM is nice school for about acting for audience. So main point is- jep they are scripted but what makes them interesting to watch isnt script but persons who interpret this script. ummm...now i wrote too jumpy and messily...erm....sry. O.O
i also dont mind if it scripted or not though i seems like it is, plus at times i think they want to highlight some individuals too but since it makes me laugh i wouldnt mind plus u cant make any show without a script ;)

I totally agree with you abut WGM...I've been watching this show since season 1 and I still love it.I remember reading somewhere that each of them get the main idea of their couple team and something like "guide-lines" and they have to transform them in make-belive.Anyway shows like RM I don't think that they are totally scripted I mean sometimes the ends of the race in really surpising but I think that the rest of the games they play are mostly scripted...I mean would it be as funny if Kwangsoo wouldn't betry someone or end up losing becuase of one of his funny mistake?! Everything is done for the audience, so I don't mind it at all:)
