Hi all! I will start watching the Kdrama ''The Kingdom Of The Winds'' very soon. Now, This is the first time I watch a drama about Goguryeo, I usually only watch Joseon Dynasty dramas when I watch a historical one. So I know nothing about Goguryeo or the three kingdoms (Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla) that ruled korea. Question 1: This drama's about ''the life of Jumong's grandson, Moo-Hyul, who was born with a curse to kill his parent, siblings, son and destroy Goguryeo.'' Now I know that the character ''Moo-Hyul/Daemusin'' is real but what about the story? is it real or fiction? I can't seem to find any facts saying the same thing as the plot description of the drama. Thankful for an answer. :) Question 2: What is/was the difference between those three kingdoms? Why where they rivals? Thanks guys. I'm asking this because I want to be sure of it when I watch the drama otherwise it will become confusing for me while I'm watching it.
No one? Deary me...
This is just from what I've observed while watching other historical dramas. Sometimes historical dramas, like Kingdom of the Winds, contain real historical facts to which the writers add romanticized elements to make it a bit more interesting to the viewers. Like a fictional love story here or best friend there who dies young. There writers also make use of the legends which may accompany the person and make it the focal point of the drama. I haven't watched this particular drama, but this has been the case for every historical drama I've watched which is based on a real person. The three kingdoms were always trying to expand their territories. And Silla started getting the idea that all of them should be one united kingdom so they were constantly trying to unify the land. It was all about power and control of the land. I might be wrong, but that's the way it seems on the other dramas I've watched from around that time. I tend to read Korean history in Wiki so usually I know the basics of what "happened" when I'm watching a drama. Writers also might change the order in which things happened like they did in Queen SeonDuk.
