what i mean is... we've all been there, right? after watching so many dramas, you feel tired and burnt out. nothing interests you anymore and nothing can quite capture your attention long enough to weather through 16+ episodes (even if it's a drama you actually wanna watch or with actors you love).

but then you decide to try one more drama just for the heck of it and next thing you know you're bingeing the whole thing in a day (or so).

what drama was that?? why did you love it so much? or why did it capture your interest?

Nirvana in Fire.

The first arc made me totally forget on my drama slump. By mid part I was so in love with Mei Changsu, greatness became synonymous with Hu Ge.

The plot was just so darn epic and awesome and brilliant. All characters were so compelling even the villains. The villains were soooo good to watch. No one was out of place or out of tune or overdramatic or not acting enough. The music made my skin crawl with excitement. It was like a perfect ensemble orchestra lead by a virtuoso soloist and the conductor was a master genius.

I straight up marathoned all 54 episodes . I did try to sleep but my curiosity on what happened next just straight up woke me after 2 hours. Thank goodness I started watching it friday, cause if it were the a weekend, I'd probably request for sick leave.

Makjang/melodramas for me (like The Last Empress). Or anything that has good cliffhangers and/or simple/catchy storylines. Good background music is a bonus for me. On the other hand slow/slice of life dramas like One Spring Night/Encounter is boring for me.. there seem to be more of that nowadays like with When the Weather is Fine & A Piece of Your Mind.

Nirvana in Fire.

For me Circle was like that except originally I started it when it was airing, got bored of waiting weekly and dropped it. After it finished airing I randomly picked it up again (as I love Sci-Fi so giving up on it was not happening), loved the approach it went for with the past/present thing the second time around and finished it in a flash.

crash landing on you really did it for me..... i couldnt finish or get hooked to any recent drama before it.... and now i m bac to my slump uggghhhhh!

Itaewon Class

I fell in love with the female lead, I loved her badass character and I wanted to see how she would win over the male lead.
