Oh man! This discussion is very interesting to me. I recently saw Kim Nam Gil in Live Up to Your Name for the first time. I was so amused by his impressive acting and decided to watch Bad Guy.
Both are revenge dramas (Shark and Bad Guy). I have not seen Shark yet, but I really loved Bad Guy. It was a dark captivating drama. His acting was something indescribable. He plays a bad guy whom I still cannot admit that he is a bad guy. He was the perfect guy for the act. The subtleness of the expressions was everything. The act was put up perfectly without flaws. He was never Kim Nam Gil. Not for a moment. He was his character, Shim Gun Wook, 100% of the time. I never believed that he was acting.
The drama was addicting. It is the perfect revenge melodrama. It gets exciting from the start and never gets dull. It is a perfect combination of drama and romance that was nothing cliche. The drama was of a great quality overall, and it became one of my favourite dramas. It took me a while to come back to reality.
I totally recommend it if you'd like an intense and serious dramatic plot. That is my personal opinion. I cannot say anything about Shark because I haven't seen it. (I don't think the wound completely healed)
KNG in Live Up to Your Name was really good too. Good enough to make me jump into another drama of his. He managed to play a laugh-out-loud funny character, but also the painful look in his eyes was no joke. I haven't seen the whole drama, though. I don't complete dramas anymore, except rarely.
