Anyone else noticed how Korean dramas were always about 1 hour and 1-5 minutes long and nowadays they're all 58-59 minutes? Doesn't change things much but I'm just curious, is there a reason for this?
I haven't noticed a change, but that might be because I am behind on the current dramas. Is it wrong to hope the decrease in time is due to the elimination of excessive flashback scenes? lol
I noticed the same thing as I was doing the Secret and Mi Rae's Choice dramathon. I don't know the reason for it though. And lol Sleepy. Sadly, they still do the flashbacks.
Flashback is good, if we haven't seen that scenes.. We find it shorter if the drama were good, exciting and enjoyable to watch.. I think 58-59 mins was good enough to have, than 1 hr w/ full of annoying and boring scenes..
Well, it would make most sense that the shorter times would be initiated by the broadcasters. I know there are regulations on how much advertisement there can be in the channel per hour so maybe there have been changes to that amount?
yes...it will depend on how good a drama is...if it is good, even 2 hours we'll still feel it is not enough. for me 58 min is good enough.
i don't mind sitting through a series even it it's more than an hour as long as the scenes and the story still has sense and are not just fillers... ...and i think i has something to do with the commercials. i think i read it in soompi that the "tv board" or something is planning to add commercials at certain time slots or shows.
