Hello :) So You Who Came From The Stars has just ended, and I was thinking that these three dramas are easily comparable - the three, of course, were very successful, and it seems like the "thing" last year (after gender-benders, time-traveling dramas...) was to add a supernatural quality to one of the main leads of the romantic couple. Also, in the three, the female lead was a strong character - and especially in I Hear Your Voice and You Who Came From The Stars, the male leads were more quiet, and the traditional roles a woman and a man have in a couple were often reversed. Personally, I Hear Your Voice was the drama that made up for the loss of Master's Sun, and You Who Came From The Stars filled the emptiness after I Hear Your Voice. I have read many commentaries mostly for I Hear Your Voice and You Who Came From The Stars, saying that the two dramas gave the viewers a "similar feeling". So I was wondering: which of these three dramas did you prefer, and why? Do you find them similar? I think I Hear Your Voice is probably my favourite - not necessarily for the plot, but because I found the two main characters (the whole love triangle, actually), very unusual and touching. Which is why, even though I really loved the three dramas, that is the romance that swayed me the most. Looking forward to your answers!
I really liked YWCFTS (You Who Came from the Stars) and IHYV (I Hear Your Voice), I found Master's Sun pretty boring though. I personally prefered YWCFTS because of the comedy factor, I found it hilarious specially during the first part of the drama, IHYV was also great though and did a better job with the later parts of the drama because it wasn't just the same old romance. The thing I really liked about them were the female leads. Even though the male leads also did a great job, that's nothing out of the ordinary, the male leads play the most noticeable characters in most dramas. Unfortunately most dramas portray women as weak and defenseless and they're boring for the most part, they're simply there to act cute and be pretty. Nothing much to say about Master's Sun, even though the female lead played a special role, I didn't find it anything special. She was constantly afraid of stuff and running to the main dude, regardless of how harmless the ghosts were. The male lead's character was nothing special either in my opinion. All in all it was a boring drama to me.
My favorite of the three is Master's Sun... the chemistry was off the charts and I loved the growth development in both mains as well as the bit of horror factor. Serious 2nd lead syndrome in all three, however. CLOSELY followed by YWCFTS as my favorite of all time. IHYV was amazing as well, and all three did give a similar vibe, but I think the chemistry in IHYV wasn't as good as it was in the other two.
Masters Sun for me too! I agree with @Heidil_yon. The chemistry was maaaad amazing, i rarely get butterflies watching dramas but i got them EVERY single episode with masters sun. thats hard to do! haha and the plot was well designed enough that you werent JUST focused on the romance. For me, YWCFTS and IHYV are a tie. YWCFTS gave comedic relief, and the main leads hao d so much face time. my issue was that the chemistry wasnt like sizzlinnng during face time, and they weren't vulnerable enough till later on in the series, and i think i got butterflies only like once during the series. same with IHYV. both were good though :)
I loved IHYV. Rewatched it a few times already, ha. I loved that chilling mood from the murderer running around free, so that was a plus for me. The law aspect of the drama gathered a lot of critique but personally I saw nothing wrong with it - and as a law student, I thought that made it quite entertaining. And the main couple was so loveable. (Also, I was living right next to that chicken shop they were filming at... ㅋㅋㅋ Never saw the filming crew though. I think they might've been finished there by the time I moved in...)
YWCFTS was good. Just... very good. I don't have much to say about that. People are mentioning the comedy but I suppose I couldn't really appreciate that factor, which overall left me a bit cold.

Master's Sun on the other hand... I couldn't even finish that one. I didn't like the characters (on their own nor as a couple) nor the plot so... meh.
For me i go for You who came from the star..well the story is just unique and hilarious.
i hear your voice is my favorite, i havent actually got around to watching ywcfts but i'll probably fall in love with it bc kim soo hyun
I haven't seen You Came from the Stars yet but I have watched the other two. I Hear Your Voice is my favorite-it had awesome characters, an intriguing story and the leads had great chemistry. I loved Master's Sun as well but I felt that the character of Joong Won was too similar to Do Ko Jin from Greatest Love. The episode extension also dragged the story and made Kong Shi appear really indecisive and slightly annoying.
My favorite is You Who Came From The Stars but I also liked I hear your voice... as for Master's sun I liked it but I didn't found it anything special...
IHYV was a bit dragged out for me, I was bored at some points. I really liked MS but apart from the supernatural aspect, it was somewhat of a 'normal' but good romantic drama. YWCFTS was very nice, but I was a bit disappointed with the ending/last episode. I think I liked MS and YWCFTS the most. I was impressed by the female leads in these series.
Master's Sun made me cry the most with its stories, I still can't forget the one with the German Shepherd :D even though I LOVE IHYV and YWCFTS, MS is my favorite. ^^
You Who came from the Stars was my favorite of the three. Followed by Masters sun. I bailed on the other after a few episodes.
You Who Came From the Stars was a typical romance drama. I actually really like I Hear Your Voice and the story plot and how they acted it out. Master's Sun, the chemistry was amazing I agree and the concept and how they carried it out was also pretty good. But out of these dramas I would pick I Hear Your Voice.
You Who Came From the Stars Mostly because Kim Soo Hyun is a good actor and I liked how he played a really cold character. He usually plays the really nice guy role. His character overall was pretty good because he didn't treat Jeon Ji Hyun's character differently because she was an actress. He totally slammed her when she told the whole class her paper was plagiarized. The chemistry between the characters as well progressed neatly and didn't rush their romance.
YWCFTS has everything in place - comedy, romance, action, thriller going for it. And admittedly, I am a little biased towards Kim Soo Hyun who did a really good job and really shined at this drama (or it could be his near-perfect looks). IHYV comes in second because of the deep connection between female and male lead. Plus, they were both strong and dynamic characters. The Master's Sun is your typical romcom, except with ghosts. Kinda like Chilling Romance movie, just with longer episodes. And also, I feel like the male lead wasn't really in love at times because he was sometimes too mean. But still, it was a really good drama. :D
