There's moments where I think that too. But one thing that's helped me understand her perspective is my sister and her husband. My brother in law only has a high school diploma and he had a well paying job (he worked his way up in a company) but he quit. Its now been a year of him searching here and there, but no real jobs are coming his way. They have a two year old daughter and my sister just gave birth to a baby this month as well. My sister has maternity leave and is also a certified teacher, so thats where the main income comes from. But it hasnt been easy on them; they live in a basement and are incredibly frugal. In a sense, my sister's almost like the main lead. She wanted my bro in law to be the breadwinner so she could raise the kids and clean the house. It's put a strain on them, but because theres still SOME income they havent reached divorce point or anything (plus they pray together and are super religious, so theres that that also helps). Personally, i would hate to stay at home, but i understand how she can be upset by CEO doing that. 4 years is one hell of a long time. You want to have kids, you want to have a family, you want security. It's sounds awful, but thats the reality of the world. Security/Survival/Love are all a bit mingled together. I feel like when she apologized to the CEO, it almost felt as if she really did love him (not for the money) in the past, but...it's hard, man. Sometimes even if you love someone, you have to let them go.
But I still see where you're coming from. Theres things she does where im like
really?
But I think both characters can be a bit dense in terms of understanding one another.
