I still like this, but I think it's going a little bit slow now? Or is is just me? I just watched episode 7 so I'm a bit behind! Thoughts so far:
*I'm starting to feel a little bit frustrated because Oh Hye Won is constantly sending mixed messages, I mean, I get that it's hard for her, but I wish she could be a little bit nicer. And I wish her young piano genius would at least look like he's a little bit happy about being able to play the piano at a school like that, instead of looking like he's sleepwalking or something. Of course he's confused and caught up in a whirlwind of secret painful passion, but he barely even replies when people are talking to him... And why doesn't he break up with his scary girlfriend, because he's not in love with her, right?
Also, I'm struggling to understand the other part of this story. I think I have figured out most of the relationships. Oh Hye Won is in a difficult position because she's not from a privileged background but has worked her way up because she's smart, talented and ambitious. Her childhood (?) friend is also her boss (?), but this kind of scary (and childish) woman also feel inferior because she knows that Hye Won is smarter and more competent and better liked by the parents. The parents have paid for Hye Won's education, and to repay them she has to keep their wild and crazy daughther from doing anything too crazy. Hye Won is like their bonus daughter/loyal servant, except that all three of them (father, mother, daughter) seem to be mortal enemies and Hye Won has to act like she is loyal to only one of them. When she's with "the old man" she has to act like she's on his side, but when she's with his wife, she has to be on her side, etc...
It's like some kind of Cinderella story. What I don't get is WHY that family is like that. (The mother/daughter fighting scene a few episodes back really shocked me, I mean seriously. They looked like they were trying to seriously hurt one another, while acting like this was perfectly normal.)
The business side of this story is a complete mystery to me and I don't get what it is that they're all trying to do... except that they're trying to be the best possible music school, but it seems like so many things are going on... It is sort of interesting, though. I wonder who's going to win (whatever that means) in the end.
The short scenes with girls (young aspiring musicians) and their teachers make very little sense to me. There's this one girl who doesn't seem to want to be there at all, while her mother insists that she must be there, and there's money involved...*
