I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to look at my watchlist and see if I'm missing anything obvious that I HAVE to see.

I'm so burned out that I'm re-watching Korean BoF for some reason...

Likes and don't likes:

YES - KILIG KILIG KILIG... epic kiss scenes... superhot ML's that will melt you right into the floor or even if it's the 2ML if he's really hot and fiery... ten million megawatt ML/FL chemistry... stuff that's dark (aesthetically dark or mentally dark)... taboo and twisted stuff... cute and funny IF IT'S ACTUALLY cute and funny... vampires and gumihos and ML's with red or blue irises... an ML rockin long white hair... antihero ML's... obsessive or insanely posessive MLs...

NO - Tragedies and tearjerkers.  (I will make a RARE exception for certain dramas like The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, because the magnetism and hotness was off the charts and it was dark and strange.  Or What Happend In Bali just because everybody has to watch it once, it's like a tradition.  So if its REALLY worth it, I will occasionally watch a tragedy.)... No modern-setting c-dramas, unless it's REALLY REALLY good for some compelling reason (wuxia/historical stuff and the long hair is fine)... No Thai.  I can't sit down and watch a T-Drama, I've tried y'all.  Several times.  That accent... I just can't get over it, I just cant.  No male/female role reversal or boyish or manly FL's, and no bodyswap.

I've heard Buzzer Beat and Fight For My Way are really good, I've just been avoiding them for some reason.  I'm so bored I'm about to start rewatching my faves.  I can't have seen everything good already.  I started Hotel King and got to like episode 2 or 3 and saw the FL and just was like ughhhhhhhhh no, I can't do it!  But maybe I should press on with it, idk.

Am I missing anything really obvious... or any hidden gems... or classics everyone needs to see once?

I tend to not often like the really popular dramas so I'll toss a few unpopular kdramas and cdramas I absolutely love at you instead.

  • Train - I binged this in two days during a bad drama slump and it bounced me right back into watching stuff. I thought the plot was very engrossing, and it starts sad but the ending is surprisingly happy. To me it was quite dark (but I tend to be squeamish, so YMMV).
  • Bulgasal: Immortal Souls - I was OBSESSED with this while airing. Dark, horror vibes, enemies to lovers, immortal, tormented ML. To me it was a very happy, satisfying ending but it involves reincarnation of both leads to get there.
  • Happiness - zombies and the most perfect friends to lovers romance I've seen. Happy ending.
  • Just Between Lovers - my favorite kdrama. Very melo and sad but with a happy ending.
  • Bloody Romance - My #1 favorite drama, it's dark, has a completely unique aesthetic, and while the leads never share a kiss it's absolutely filled with yearning. NOTE: the ending is open and some people interpret it as tragic but while the ML is presumed to be dead, FL has a clue on the fan she was given that indicates he's alive. There was supposed to be another season and the writer said he would have been alive and reunited with the FL, but unfortunately the drama wasn't popular enough for that to happen. :/ But, with that in mind, the ending can be seen as hopeful/heading toward happy.
  • Twisted Fate of Love - deliciously anti-hero ML, tangled plot, good chemistry. Ending is slightly open but implied to be happy.
  • Untouchable Lovers - a lot of people hate it, I love it. ML is very...complicated, twisty stuff happens in the plot, it's a delicious mess of love/hate between the leads and a ton of scheming, back-stabbing characters. Amazingly, the ending is happy.
  • A Familiar Stranger - mini drama but surprisingly spicy with great chemistry between the leads and very beautiful cinematography. Happy ending.
  • Dong Lan Xue - mini drama. villain leads who get a happy ending!
  • Zhang Gong Zhu Zai Shang - mini drama. sizzling chemistry, anti-hero FL, unusual dynamics between the leads, and a happy ending.

And feel free to glance at my list, if you like, I feel like I've seen like 90% of all historicals (just ignore the ratings, I am very easy to please and often have bad taste, but you might find some titles you haven't yet seen).

tysm emeraldarrows, right on. <3

I can't recommend based on other people likes but may be it's time to watch something hot

I feel like I've seen everything hot too.

sigh.

I don't believe there is anything such thing as a "must see" Drama. Dramas are entertainment and all about personal tastes and preferences. It looks like our tastes are quite different, so the only recommendation I'll make is to suggest that you take the advice of whoever recommended Buzzer Beat. ?

I feel I can recommend

*Vampire Prosecutor (vampire + blue eyes + interesting plot, Korea)

*Somebody (mentally dark + hot&twisted ML, Korea)

@jijin

tysm!  woohoo things to look forward to watching, awesome <3
