Fl/ml oblivious about their parents/family's backstory

So I have been writing a book where the fl is finally going to be coronated after going through past trauma and false accusations as her mother was an immoral spy that betrayed both her and her father when she was little and left, so the fl has been brought up by her father who will now be the former king that provided her with all the affection and care needed to make her a reliable queen.

But why did  her mother leave her, what did she do to betray them or was it even immoral, or what it that her father is hiding from her.

And now as the fl searches for the truth and and realises it hits her deep in her heart. 

So I am looking for such drama that gives you a feel of emotions that rushes through your blood,that can include a connecting story of ml that helps the fl in searching the truth about their backstory and a plot that twists your brain with broken and/or meaningful side characters.

  • The Rise of Phoenixes- FL was oblivious to her real identity and the more she knew the more the the past weighs. ML searches for truth and revenge in  the murky waters of palace politics. The leads meet each other but  more than just their love story connects them . The secrets of the past generation and history keep them apart . 
  • The Song of Glory- FL kept in the dark about her real family and tries to kill ML. The closer she gets to him the more unravels. She is an assassin and has to question her believes. I did not like this drama but the story might interest you.
  • Alchemy of Souls /Alchemy of Souls Season 2: Light and Shadow - The leads are embroiled in magic and  a chosen one prophecy as well as hidden lies that affected both of them in different ways
  • Bulgasal: Immortal Souls- The leads have a history but  a forgotten on that spans over lifetimes. Are they truly enemies?
  • Joseon Attorney: A Morality- a princess and a  shady lawyer  connected by hidden corruption and murder. Can they overcome the grudges and face  
  • Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1- I like the love story . ML's search for the truth behind his family's tragedy and the layered relationship he has with his father gets revealed.
  • The Wolf - childhood friends broken apart by royal politics and conspiracies.

I haven't explored much of historical dramas but with such a compelling description that you have provided for each drama i sure will check those out.

  • Blind - ML's parents did some absolutely horrible things and covered it up. His own memories are fragmented and messed up.
  • Golden Blood - one of the MLs learns that his bodyguard who he's fallen in love with was a boy who was raised by his father as a bloodbank since the ML has a rare blood type. His father basically doesn't view the bodyguard as a person, just a resource, which makes the ML furious with his father.
  • Marmalade Boy (movie) - the leads' parents have an odd and complicated history together which the leads only fully learn toward the very end. This confusion makes them wrongfully believe for a while that they're half siblings.
  • Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu - the leads are raised as siblings and never told that the FL is adopted. This causes problems since the ML is subconsciously drawn to her when he still thinks they're related.
  • Colourful Bone - ML starts the drama as a slave with no identity. Later he finds out he's the prince and there's a lot of family secrets. 
  • Arthdal Chronicles  - ML doesn't know anything about his parents' past or that one of then wasn't human.
  • My Dear Brothers - ML's master/adoptive father created him and raised him to be sacrificed in place of his son which the ML later finds out.
  • Men Zhu - the twist toward the end is the ML learning that his father is an evil person who basically plans to sacrifice him for what his father wants.
  • Miss Mystery - ML knows nothing about his father's past at the start of the drama, but by the end he'll learn his father murdered the entire family of the woman the ML loves and tried to kill her as a child, and he's not the ML's biological father, either.

Beautiful Gong Shim - the ML was kidnapped as a child, abandoned, then taken in by a loving family whose young son had died recently. His birth family is wealthy.
