I've found a new subgenre to love: domestic food slice of life dramas with a side of romance like the following:

Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna

What Did You Eat Yesterday?

Our Dining Table

Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryourijou

These are all Japanese, I haven't found any outside Japan that do the slice of life in the same sort of comforting vibe? (If you've watched these you probably know what I mean? It's really gentle I guess is the best word?)

I'm looking for more like the above!

I love that genre!

Japanese:

Non Japanese with a similar vibe, imo:

Hello Ivy,

this is a great theme!

So far I've stumbled across dramas with this genre more by chance than by explicitly looking for them because I wasn't aware that there was actually a genre. Thanks for giving recommendations in your initial post. I'll search for them as a suggestion for me. :-)

I can only think of this movie at the moment:
Extreme Job (2019)
It's been a while since I've seen it. I think there was no romance, but I remember the movie as funny.

Greetings! :-)

Watched Chef Hua, cute drama but very forgettable. Mostly I remember scenes of food preparation with only her hands shown, and the hands clearly aren't hers (may be male at one point). Kind of distracting.
