+1. I should've thought to include this one in my list. The ML was originally both the ML of the drama that the FL wrote and its main villain. He was meant to be quite ruthless, but as itscelina wrote, in the version of the story that the FL enters he softens up and changes his priorities after falling for the FL.

With happy or somewhat okay ending 

  • Healer - thief/does criminal activities for a price 
  • Falling for innocence - ML is a corporate scavenger that creates chaos and is very hardnon employees when he takes over a company
  • Thay winter the wind blows - ML is a conman
  • Karn La Krang Neung…Nai Hua Jai - ML is a gangster
  • Only side by side with you - ML is a gangster... Kinda.. Or part of a organized gang company system
  • Giant - the secondary couple is probably this type of story. He is a son of a corrupt nd evil man, and somehow he got some bad/corrupt moves from dad to take over projects

sad or tragic end:

  • The Devil / Lucifer - ML is mastermind crime manipulator
  • Maou - Japanese version of The Devil
  • Count of monte cristo: haku - and yup its based from alexabder dumas book so ghy is pretty down on his revenge 
  • I am sorry i love you - ML is out for revenge
  • Bridal Mask - ML is a traitor of korea

Lovers (2006) - gangster w/a pregnant girlfriend fights attraction to a plastic surgeon who is also daughter of a preacher/orphanage head. Not a perfect series but the chemistry between the leads is amazing - they ended up dating for a couple years. It's one of my guilty pleasures; I've skip-watched it many times.

Cruel City (2013) - drug cartel underboss falls for call girl, who is an undercover cop. Incredibly twisty-turny story - not a real 'romance' per se (it gets REALLY complicated). This drama has both of my favorite action scenes of all time & a very memorable sexy scene between leads. Don't read spoilers! 

Innocent Man (revenge story - he's a gigolo) and That Winter, The Wind Blows (conman) might also work - both endings aren't 'happy'  however in the traditional sense.

So Lovers (2006) has one of my fav actors ----Lee Seo Jin--- and I had heard so much about the chemistry of the leads. Unfortunately the storyline completely turned me off since I hate cheating MLs especially here he has a pregnant gf.....I wish there was a way for me to watch just the scenes of ML and FL without having to see the actual drama :(:(:(
