Specifically, I'm looking for a modern-day rom-com that: -- captured your attention from the very first episode. -- left an impression and made you feel awed -- has a female lead who isn’t too much of an airhead -- has great acting and good chemistry between the leads -- is an overall very heart-warming drama -- preferably has lots of funny moments, but if it goes for the serious side of things I want it to go all the way, with complex characters and thought-provoking storyline instead of a silly, shallow plot. It has to be a modern drama. No sageuks or other historical dramas please. I’ll list some dramas to start things off, for anyone looking for the same thing or for an example of what I’ve previously seen and liked: The Woman who Still Wants to Marry My Lovely Kim Sam Soon The Fierce Wife (not so much the funny, but it’s one drama that definitely is thought-provoking) Soulmates Nobuta wo Produce (not necessarily a rom-com, but it has the comedy and the schoolyard one-sided crushes, and this one is both funny and thought-provoking which is just the best) Soulmates 49 Days I Hear Your Voice Personal Taste (Maybe not the best drama out there but the chemistry between the leads is the best I’ve seen. They make a really cute couple.) Who are You? (2008) (It’s absolutely hilarious with body-swapping hijinks galore)

I totally agree with these.

Others you might want to check out are:

Dal Ja's Spring
King of Dramas
What's Up Fox
I Love Lee Tae-ri
9 Ends 2 Outs

I'm not sure if any of these left me feeling "awed", but they were all very good. Dal Ja's Spring is on my top 5.

P.S. Soulmate and My Lovely Sam-soon are on my top 5, as well.
Our Love / Love's Band-Aid
Really funny, and the female lead isn't an airhead... just easily trusting haha
All About My Romance (this my fav rom-com this year :D )

I Need Romance 2! (Somebody already recommended the first season) I love it and I liked it a lot more than the first one :) Flower Boy Next Door (very cute! And very unique.) And nobody recommended Secret Garden yet, so now I am ;)
Wow! Thanks for all the recommendations! I've started watching "What's Up, Fox" and I'm really enjoying that so far. However, from the descriptions, "Flower Boy Next Door", "All about my Romance", "Greatest Love", and "Love's Bandaid" all sounds like what I'm looking for too, and I'll give them a shot soon. Thank you very much everyone. ^^
