Without knowing your taste more in detail, it's hard to know what you would like, because the things you want are in so many different kinds of novels... But, I love reading too, so I'll give you a few suggestions with links to Goodreads. Maybe they aren't exactly what you're looking for but hopefully that's not a problem. :)
The Abstinence Teacher, Tom Perrotta <--- Opposites attract! (Maybe the least "romance novel" type on this list, but a really good book)

Perfect Strangers, Lou Ann Gaeddert <--- Fake marriage (one of my "guilty pleasure" books... no comedy at all, though, but no tragedy!)

Outlander, Diana Gabaldon <--- Time travel, adventure and hot romance (I'd say the "hottest" on this list)

Evening Class, Maeve Binchy <--- A group of strangers come together to learn Italian for various reasons and end up being friends... or, in some cases, lovers (a nice "feelgood book", I first read it in my teens and I still have warm feelings towards it)

The Secret of Happy Ever After, Lucy Dillon <--- Marriage, friendship, the love of reading (The one on this list that I read most recently, I'd say it's an "okay" feelgood book, but I'm not such a huge fan of the genre anymore... you might like it though!)

That's all that I can think of at the moment.
