Hi!

I am looking for romantic dramas, or dramas with a strong romantic subplot, where the romantic male lead is soft, goofy, sweet or in any other way deviates from the norm of tsundere, rich guy/prince formula.

An example would be Lovestruck in the City or Sweet Teeth, or movies like Perfect World.

Thankyou.

  • Something in the Rain (definitely)
  • The Secret Life of My Secretary
  • Just Between Lovers
  • It's Okay to Not Be Okay
  • Hotel del Luna
  • Crash Landing on You

Thanks, I have already watched all but two of those. :-P I absolutely agree that Something in the Rain was just the thing.

  • My Unfortunate Boyfriend
  • Just Between Lovers
  • You’re My Pet (Kimi Wa Petto)  (2017)
  • Hey Sensei, Don’t You Know?
  • Is This Love Checkmate?!
  • Shanai Marriage Honey
  • Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu (We Married as a Job)
  • Kikazaru Koi niha Riyuu ga Atte
  • Colorful Love: Genderless Danshi ni Aisareteimasu
  • 4-punkan no Marigold
  • Horimiya
  • Chijo no Kiss

The first two are K-dramas, the rest are J-dramas.

Another Ji Chang Wook drama I suggest is 'Healer' his character is both unusual and soft,it has action but maybe you will like it.

I also suggest 'One spring night' it's from the same screenwriter as 'Something in the rain' and the cast is similar.

'Yumi's cells' is a good and also realistic romcom and the male lead is unusual and soft, it's based on a webtoon.

As of historicals, 'The tale of Nokdu' is cute.

And most recent one I suggest is 'Our beloved summer' which I find the vibes similar to 'Lovestruck in the city'

That Fool (2009) - the ML is a very ordinary looking postal employee, the FL a famous film star. They meet when she is in a one-car auto accident with her real (forbidden) boyfriend.

Cute this, I saw it a few years ago, in the same period in my opinion quite similar Boku to Star no 99 Nichi (2011)

Maybe…

Thankyou so much, filled a lot of them into my list and I already had some on there but didn't know they had gentle male leads.

Haha, thankyou. I have already watched  and loved a bunch of these, so we are clearly thinking in the same direction. Will check them out.

Thankyou. Started watching Healer yesterday and it is so good. Would totally have skipped it, because it presented like more like "All Action" in the trailers I came across.

Thankyou, that sounds good. I love a good working class hero.
