Hello,

I am looking for Dramas from anywhere, in which there is a focus on women building businesses or working towards a career goals. If romance is included, that's even better.

But not just boring,  skippable boardroom talk, that's part of every contemporary Chinese office romance drama it seems.

Examples that I already love are WWW and Dear Missy.

I need some motivation as I start my own company... So give me all the recommendations!

Thankyou!

I've just finished Delicious Romance and I can't recommend it highly enough. It has three female leads: one is trying to open her own restaurant, another is a vice-president of a production house, and the third one is returning to work after a divorce

XX - its more about the drama that happened between the leads friendship but they both work together in order to get their business working and taking revenge. Might be something for you ;)

I know it is not women centered, but I still want to recommend Pegasus Market. It was funny and entertaining, set in a supermarket. Shows different way of doing business for sure.

Nothing gold can stay

  • 37.5°C no Namida: A pretty unique career story as the female lead is a child caregiver. She has to overcome personal hurdles to be good at her job.
  • Daisy Luck: A woman decides to embark on a new baking career at the age of 30. It also shows her friendship with other women who have various careers.
  • Iron Ladies: Focuses on three badass ladies who work for a cosmetics company.
  • Natsuzora: If you can handle long dramas this is one of my absolute favorites. It's about a young woman embarking on a career in the early Japanese animation industry.
  • Tokyo Joshi Zukan: Follows a woman's career in fashion from after high school till her late 40s.

(I also just started my own company. Good luck to you in your endeavors!)

Historical but  exactly about that:

 Marvelous Women

Miss Lee FL didn't start her own business, but is pushed into the role of CEO of a failing company

Kurokawa no Techo FL's methods of doing business are "unconventional" (in a legal gray area) and her business starts with money she obtained through blackmail, nonetheless kinda inspiring attitude-wise (she doesn't let herself be intimidated dealing with more powerful men)

Historical:

Oshin  Drama starts in 1983 when FL is the matriarch of a business empire/super market chain, how she achieved that is told in flashbacks (highly recommended, though I didn't finish it yet)

Agri based on the true story of a beautician/hairdresser/70-year-businesswoman

Gold leaf 1949 onwards (in an era without business women) FL leads crumbling tea factory to the world
