This is a recurring theme among my favorite MLs (and men in general lol) and besides the great choices already listed I definitely recommend you check out The Story of Minglan (this is pretty much the very description of Gu Tingye) and Reply 1997 & 1994 - these might be slight variations of what you’re looking for but imo still fit because they’re very capable (well I guess the entire series male leads, incl 1988 is that) but also have the characteristics usually thought of as masculine. Sometimes they’re childish & boyish but grow up into examples of great men etc.
