Goowon couple similar love story recommendations!

Hey guys! I really love Kdramas. My ideal couple is DOTS Goowon couple or Seo Dae Young x Yoon Myeong Joo couple. Their love story is so painful yet so beautiful! I want recommendation of such love stories. That could be anything, any movie, any drama even other than korean drama, any manga, anything. Please let me know about them. And the girl chases boy who tries to stay away is my favourite trope or you can say rich girl, poor boy/ boy thinks he's not worthy of the girl is my favourite trope. The couple could be second couple, third couple, I don’t have any problem. But I want to see such love stories. Please recommended. I've watched many but didn’t find anything that matched the level of GOOWON couple! Only 'Better days' chinese movie matched the level. Please tell me about such love stories that all of you know and a short synopsis will be great. Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myeong Joo love each other to such level where they are ready to give up everything. How beautiful that is! They are my forever favourite couple! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi! 

Quite difficult to answer since I can't find a drama that fits all the tropes you like with the same ambiance as in the second couple of DOTS. However, two dramas came to my mind when I was reading your post but they don't fit all your criteria: 


1) Autumn's Concerto : Quite old (2009), the FL doesn't chase the ML at all, it's more like a natural process even if the ML is, at first arrogant, thinks everything turn around him etc... The FL will make him change a lot. The beginning of it is a bit cliché but you'll see very soon that this is in fact a mature story. They go through so many things together, they sacrifice sometimes themselves. I really think this can fit the trope : not worthy enough... or not good enough to protect her, love her... In this, there are a lot of basic tropes (which I will not describe it would be a major spoiler), but the ambiance of it, the authenticity, it gives a sense of reality. We will see them from their youth until their 30/35 years old I guess. I loved it, it talks about regrets, past happy days, love and so many others things 

2) Love and Redemption : This might be a bit strange for you since I don't see any drama of this genre in your Completed List. This an Historical/Fantasy Chinese drama. For me, this is the most beautiful love story I've ever seen. I don't want to say anything about it, because I loved to discover everything about this. Same as fro Autumn's Concerto, here this is the ML who chases the FL but not in an obivous way. He's dying inside for her, trying all he can do without confessing her what he feels. He sacrified so many, and even when it's done he still continue to hope something. He really think he's not worthy enough... It's all about fated love, star-crossed lovers, sacrifice, pain, hope, bravery etc...

Hi Dejes! I've watched both the dramas that you recommended.  I really liked Love and Redemption. The angst I was searching is definitely there. To tell the truth, it’s a really long drama. So I cut some parts where politics was involved, but I really watched all the parts of male and female lead. I understand why it’s your favourite drama. And the angst was there in Autumn's Concerto too. I am happy watching both the dramas. Happy watching.

Hey, I really love this trope and I also loved DOTS and the secondary couple. I have some dramas in mind that might fit your bill^^

Goblin - in this case, both of the couples have amazing chemistry and fit your description more or less. In the case of the secondary couple, you will see the female chasing male trope done really well. It's also a really good drama overall so I think you will enjoy it!

Come and Hug Me - I think the overall vibe of this drama fits into what you want really well. It's very angsty and the leads will literally do anything for each other. The ML is also afraid not to hurt the FL so he "runs away" from her on different occasions. Their chemistry is really good as well!

Run On - more on the lighthearted side. The secondary couple deals with the rich woman/poor man trope and she is quite direct with her advances.

The Innocent Man - I think that maybe you will like this one as well. Be aware that the ML is kind of shitty at first but he improves over time. The chemistry is also amazing and a lot of things happen between the leads. 

The Master's Sun - a very good drama with a clingy female lead. It has fantasy and interesting characters, their relationship also develops quite fast!

Hope some of them will fit your taste. Personally I recommended the ones that I really enjoyed while watching so I hope you will find them to your linking as well!

A Business Proposal the second FL is rich and chases after the second ML who's not as rich but not poor. 

Flower of Evil the FL and the ML but it's shown in flashbacks. This is a really dark drama though, so beware. 

The Beauty Inside you will love the second couple in this.
