Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if you can recommend dramas where we actually get plenty of time seeing the main pair as a couple - without angst/misunderstandings/breakups/etc.? I've seen lots of dramas with great couples who have tons of chemistry, but only get together at the very very end. I've also seen lots of dramas with couples who are together for a good bit of time, but are constantly getting caught up in unnecessary misunderstandings, or getting manipulated by other characters. I'm in the mood for a drama with a good couple who actually get to be a couple. I don't mind if there's drama around them, I just don't want to watch drama between them.

Hello, the Sharpshooter - it is very slow burning and leads are together from some first episodes (living together). Their relationship is a bit complicated and it would be spoiler if I would write more. It is healing drama. But they surely have a lot of screen time together. :)

Tonari no Kazoku wa Aoku Mieru - multiple couples and ML is one of the best drama husbands. :)

Thanks!

How angsty is If I can love you so? And is it all outside the main couple or do they have misunderstandings/breakups/etc?

Thanks! I'll check these out.

  • Love O2O
  • You Are My Glory
  • My Fated Boy - There's some angst related to the FL worrying about how people (particularly the ML's mum) would react when they find out about their relationship, and there's a bit of drama between the leads because of it (they disagree about keeping their relationship secret or not / who should bear most of the pain related to that choice).
  • Bromance - In the last episode, the FL doesn't know that the ML learned her secret a while ago, so there's a bit of anxiety / drama between them at that point, but it's short lived.
  • Go Go Squid!
  • Go Ahead - It takes them a while to get together, but it's a long drama.
  • The Beauty Inside
  • The Eternal Love - One misunderstanding after they fall for each other. Doesn't last too long.
  • Who Rules the World - It takes them a while to get together, but it's a long drama.

Thanks! YAMG is one of my all-time favorites. I also really liked Love O2O, My Fated Boy, Go Ahead, and The Eternal Love.  I started watching Go Go Squid! a while ago, but I dropped it - I think b/c the ML seemed like a jerk? - but maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance. I've been hesitant about Bromance b/c of the cross-dressing trope.

Put Your Head On My Shoulder

Five Children

Thanks! I'd never heard of Five Children before. Do you remember how many episodes it takes before the leads get together? 50+ hour-long episodes is a big commitment . . .  but it also looks pretty good

Five Children has more than one couple, the others being the ML's adult siblings.  It has been said that his shy sister's love story steals the show - and really shouldn't work given the very opposite male - but it does. The primary couple work together in the same department, and he accidentally becomes involved in her personal life. It's been a while since I've watched this one. The crossover to romance might occur around ep.15, not sure. He hasn't dated since his wife's death years earlier (lives with his wealthy in-laws who help with his young children and don't want the situation to change). She has told her own young children that their father is abroad rather than telling them he remarried.

I guess the thing is that given their situation, they know that any move towards romance will be a commitment.

I'd give it a try for a couple of episodes to see how you like it. This is one of the best family dramas.
