Most sageuks have the ML being either a prince or the king and the FL is a commoner or noblewoman. Do you know of any romantic sageuks with it the other way around? I've already seen The Princess's Man and Queen Seondeok and liked them both, do you have any somewhat similar recommendations?

  • Rebel Princess (China) - FL is the niece princess of the King and father is the Prime Minister. and ML is a commoner orphan who rose through the ranks of the military to become a general and honored noble
  • King's Affection - technically Princess is known as the crown prince, ML is the scholar/Teachee
  • My Sassy Girl - FL is trouble making princess and ML is a scholar teacher of the FLs brother
  • Ballad of Seodong - FL is the youngest daughter of kingdom of Silla, and ML starts off as an orphan kid who is raised by traveling artisan, though he later learns (in his 20s) that he is actually a long lost prince of King of Baekje
  • Mirror of the Witch /Secret Healer - FL is an abandoned princess  while ML is a healer/doctor, or the most renowed historical doctor in korean history, Heo Jun
  • Nobunaga Concerto (Japan) - ML is highschooler who transmigrated to feudal era, and who looks like a son of a powerful military guy, Oda Nobunaga. He takes on the role of that Oda Nobunaga who is arranged to be married to a daughter of a daimyo. Anyway this one is not romance centered
  • Not really, but maybe: My daughter Soo Baehyang

Edit: Sorry, OP, I didn't read your post carefully enough. You said "romance", and I don't think the romance in Hwajung is that focal to the story, but I left the rec as it is in case you might be interested?

River Where the Moon Rises - it’s about a Goguryeo Princess. Kim So Hyun is the female lead. Focuses more on female lead’s journey but male lead is also an important main character and their chemistry is really amazing (especially since he was only the replacement male lead).

There’s also the movie about Princess Deokhye (one of the last princesses of Korea). Title is The Last Princess. Son Ye Jin plays the princess while Kim So Hyun plays her younger counterpart. Not romance centric, but it’s a good movie

Splendid Politics - I haven’t watched this but it’s about a Princess who lived through a turbulent period where there are a lot of changes in rulers. Lee Yeon Hee plays the female lead.

  • My Sassy Girl
  • River where the moon rises

Mr. Queen

Under the Queen's Umbrella

  • +1 The King's Affection - The FL is born a princess and later is forced to take the place of her twin brother as a prince. The ML is a doctor/scholar and son of the FL's grandfather's ruthless henchman.

Not a princess, but close to what you're looking for:

  • The Crowned Clown - After marrying the King, the FL becomes Queen. The ML is a commoner (the "clown" in the title) who ends up switching places with the King.
  • Mr. Sunshine - Not a sageuk exactly, but still a Korean historical romance. The FL is the only daughter of one of the wealthiest and most influential noble families in the country. The ML was a slave and the son of slaves. The SML was the son of a butcher (from the lowest class of society).

Weirded by the Under the Queen's Umbrella Suggestion. The OP is looking for a sageuk where a princess (meaning a daughter of a king) is the main character. The main character of  Under the Queen's Umbrella is the reigning Queen, and I don't remember any princesses from the drama except the ones that married princes.  It's a good drama though at least.
