Like the lead is constantly trying to become a better person, friend, lover, parent, wife, husband, son, or daughter. And isn't just saying/wishing it, but actually puts in some effort. And its a conscious effort and not something that springs up due to circumstances or whatever. Like, it's a choice/philosophy and they live by it.
